I'm downloading now and about to install.
This thing is huge and my SSD is only 256GB.
    I have another two 3TB 7200RPM drives.
Will GTA V benifit from SSD (samsung 830) or will it run equally well on HDD?

A friend of mine bought a physical copy to avoid massive downloads and still ended up having to download 6GB or so on top of what was on the DVDs. It's better than having to download it all if your connection's slow but just be aware there'll still be some to download.

Having put it on my samsung 830 ssd I can say the worst part of the game is the loading times, so would advise making them as quick as possible, the graphics on pc are great but I can easily go and make a coffee and be back before some of the missions load up.

What the devil's wrong with all your PC's?

I literally wait a minute or two when loading into story, and then bam, that's it. Cut-scene loads are instantaneous, and dropping back into gameplay is equally as fast. And I'm not exactly running a chart topper of a PC.

The loading time isn't so bad on my PC, I've not timed it but I sure can't make a cuppa faster than it loads. :p

That's on my aging 1TB WD Black (over 5 year old now). However, if I put on mute and drive really fast, I do hear the HDD constantly seeking and reading. But the game never buffers or loads once it gets going.

If you have the Steam version, Steam Mover will move games about.

I'm running GTA V off an SSD and my load time is less than a minute to get in to story mode, and I've noticed no other loading ever. Apart from the stutters at intersections the game plays really well, and I'm thinking the fix for that is to suck it up an drop a few settings.

How did you get your settings out of the game?

And how did you get benchmark results? At the end of my benchmark, I just saw "Would you like to exit the game" as though I've pressed Alt-F4

theirs no loading on the map once your on it, thats normal, just when you first load the game, takes forever and transferring to friends games and different lobby's takes a while so im moving it all over to my new SSD.

Also anyone know any tricks to skip the intro?

Yeah I'm finding the long load times quite frustrating, running it on an HDD as there's not enough SSD room for it. I don't mind waiting for story mode, that's a one off, but for GTA Online it's a pain. It takes ages to move servers, which is a real pain if you're trying to join friends. I've had a few instances where I'll have to wait ages and then only afterwards be told there are no slots available. I'd have thought it would quickly check that and load only if there's space, but apparently it messes up occasionally. I mean it's not the end of the world, but it is a bit frustrating if you want to do a heist with some friends and it takes like 20 minutes for everybody to get to one place. That's 20 minutes I'd rather spend playing, 30% of the time too if you only have an hour or so in an evening.

Had a 250+mb update this morning, Not sure what it's fixed, but hasn't fixed the mouse issues. Guessing all i can do is uninstall and re-install, Although, not sure what that will achieve, Glad i was able to use Steam backup, Don't have to sit and re-download it all.
