So I've been thinking about upgrading but I rarely see the point as the performance isn't a massive jump these days, the only thing that changes is the price. I've got 3570k at 4.5ghz 8GB DDR3 GTX 970 oc'd Is it worth upgrading? I'm pretty sure this rig can still handle anything at high-max. Should I wait for the next series of gpus and cpus? Nothing seems like it's the big upgrade that was promised. The only time I've ever seen this to be real was when Crysis was released. I remember nVidia and ATI bringing out the 8800gtx and that was a huge difference. Where's that card?
Hi it depends on what your doing and if your just playing games that machine is fine for day to day stuff and any 1080p games i have a system the same spec at stock and is fine
Definitely not. Unfortunately it looks as if you may have to satisfy that upgrade itch another way. New monitor perhaps?
He may be drunk but he makes sense. No need to upgrade at all and a 970 is far better than just 1080p too.
I know the ich of upgrade fever. Look how old my platform is! But when I look at my performance vs new gen stuff I still out perform most stuff, particularly now I have a 4ghz hex core Xeon. Just a small cost of £55 breathed new like into my x58 system as my i7 920 was really showing its age. If I had 8GB I would be looking to up it to 12GB as some of the newer games now are total ram hogs and even have 6/8GB as a minimum requirement... I hate having my spec within recommended, never mind minium.
