Any thoughts,? To be honest I probably will not be ready or afford the new build until the end of the year but thought I might at least begin the long(ish) research period which for me is half the fun of a new build.
Skylake doesn't come with a stock cooler either, apparently. Not problem for most people, but worth bearing in mind.
Looking around I came on this: Skylake Processors use the same mounting specifications as older LGA115X heatsinks. In other words, heatsinks that work with LGA 1150, 1155, and 1156 will work with Skylake. Is this correct?
Take a look at the ASRock Z170 Extreme4 motherboard, it is an extra tenner give or take (depending where you buy it) and offers far more bang for your buck. Review LINK And the sweet spot speed for memory seems to be (after some research) 2666MHz, the lower latency on the 2666 kits will also benefit you more so for gaming
Thanks, just the sort of advice I am looking for. Edit: Your link is for an ATX board I am looking for M-ATX.
Have a read of this regarding RAM - personally I went for 8GB now and will consider 16 when prices fall/I need more http://www.techspot.com/article/1043-8gb-vs-16gb-ram/

But I will be looking for RAM with blue LED's.
Please for the love of god don't waste your money on Dom Plats. They're no better than any other ram module and when you come to sell them people don't seem to have the same sense of humor you had when you bought them. If you want to look at other structures then consider going with an X99 M board and a 5820k.
