    Is it wrong to feel ever so slightly turned on by that big bar of aluminium?

    Nice to see the trolls making an appearance. No, I don't mean you, Cheaps! :hehe:

    They are some mighty thin slivers of aluminium you have there, Tel. I can't imagine what possile use you'd have for them... :worried:

    Yup; I find milling is slow work. Surprising how many operations are involved in even a simple piece!

    lol

    Tooth picks Dave what else ;)

    I worked it out it's going to take around 4 hours machining per side and three side's per bar and of course that's two bars :jawdrop:

    luckily I'm doing most of it on the CNC which makes life a lot easier :thumb: so long as I don't move the work piece I can stop it and restart it on the line it was stopped at :D

    Better keep the temperature in your workspace constant. Even small expansions and contractions can cause deviations between where you stopped and resumed...

    ^If that isn't a blatant setup for a rod expansion joke, I don't know what is.
    I highly recommend keeping it lubed up too. (Oh God...) It sucks when the bit dulls in the middle of a long cut.

    @Spreadie - Pot/kettle/black.:p

    Also: Glass reservoir.

    I know you like to play things close to your chest but I'm going to ask anyway - what finish are you planning for the aluminium?

    Well being a juke box it's true bling so the main body will be chrome'ish the bottom and top cross bars will be gold and the front grill also will be gold and the top glass is still undecided.
    The reservoirs all 4 of them lol will be red and yellow and of course lots of Leds inside :D
