    Introduction

    Hi everyone,
If you can remember, my previous mod was based on Assassin's Creed Game. So this time around I thought of going a bit to the future with a mod based on Crysis Game.
This will have lot of work to do and will need lot of hours. So I expect this work-log to go on for few months.

First I must give a huge thanks to Thermaltake for encouraging me to do this mod.

This build would not become a reality if not for my Sponsors. So a big thank goes out to my sponsors.

Avexir is supporting this build with Blue Raiden DDR4 Memory sticks

Gigabyte is supporting this build with a X99 Gaming G1 WIFI Motherboard

Nvidia is supporting this build with 2x GTX 980 Graphic Cards

Thermaltake is supporting this build with all the items listed below.
    1x Thermaltake Urban T81
2x Thermaltake Pacific PT40-D5 Silent Kit Reservoir/Pump Combo
    2x Thermaltake Pacific RL360 Radiator
1x Thermaltake W2 CPU Water Block
    2x Thermaltake V-Tubler PETG Tube 5/8” (16mm) OD 500mm 4 Pack
8x Thermaltake Riing 12 LED Blue
    1x Toughpower Grand 1200W
and dozens of Fittings needed for the loop.

    Concept

I will be modifying the Thermaltake Urban T81 from ground up to facilitate a new component layout using materials like Acrylic, Aluminium and Steel. All the side, top and front panels will be made with acrylic sheets to carry the Crysis Game Theme. After assembling the whole case it will be airbrushed to give it the effects that are demonstrated in the pictures.

This mod will have a motherboard cover which will be controlled by a Raspberry Pie Micro-Controller using a 7" touch screen. Raspberry Pie will also control fan speeds, LED colors and other actuators for moving parts.

Main focus point of this mod was the holding facility where Crysis 3 game begins. So the airbrushing will try to demonstrate the looks of a old futuristic building.

    Renderings
These are the 3D rendering of the mod. It should resemble these once completed.

Hi Guys, a Small note to everyone. Some might think this is just another 3d model concept and never gonna become a reality. To make sure it's not just a concept. The build is almost 80% complete. You should be able to find few pictures online.

    Thanks Gunsmith,

Seems like you are a hardcore fan of Crysis.

I am currently waiting to buy a 3D printer to print few pieces and the NanoSuit :)

Stay tuned. It will look EPIC

I've been anticipating this build since then. It'll be a good one for sure. It's always interesting to see your techniques. Happy modding!

hi Guys back again with the first update. sorry for the delay in this. trying to finish the build before May.

Had to learn some programming and electronics to make the touch screen display.
But here we go with the components that i will be using.

lmao I look at it and try and break it down into all of the little jobs that would need doing.

I plan about five years, give or take a decade :D

    Ha ha h Vault Tec,

Yeah it takes a long time. airbrushing one side panel takes over 30 hours. and whole build is just so long.

Have been doing it since September and still have quite some stuff to do. but I will share a little sneak peak soon. :)

It's been Quite a while Guys, So I have already finished this Mod a long time ago, but since I got some personal issues, I could not update the work log. But now most of it is sorted out and I will be updating and finish off this Mod as well as the Nvidia Luxury ITX Mod. So stay tuned.

Once I got all the hardware, the first thing i did was disassemble the Urban T81.

The reason for this was to fit all the hardware that I wanted, this Monstor case was still too small... yeah too small.... On top of that the front panel and the rear panel was pretty useless since i was changing the whole layout of the case. So i increased the height of the case with 4 pieces of Aluminum L pieces.

On the next post I will talk to you on how I built the external shell. Stay Tuned ;)

on Today's Update we build the external body of the Mod.

First I tried to build it with wood and cast with fiber, but the problem was that the edges were too sharp to take out from the mold easily. and if i just use wood it will be too heavy. So after building the whole shape, i had to scrap it and redo with 2mm acrylic. So if you are going planing on making a mold, make sure you can remove the mold easily.

So here we go with the acrylic.
First step was to make the Vector designs for the parts. Once that was done the next was the fun part
After getting everything laser cut I router them to correct angles.
The next step was to get plastic cutter and engrave lines on the acrylic to add more details. Lastly I glued them together using chloroform.

The Next Update on Monday will show you how I painted and airbrushed the panels to get the 'futuristic rusted metal building' look that I wanted.

So when I tried to do the wood frame. it turned out like this.
Sadly all those hours of hard work went to waste because the edges were too sharp and complicated to mold.

Getting back to the Acrylic panels. here's how the paint went. This Panel took 7+ hours to paint. Getting that weathered effect and having a reflective metallic look is very hard. but I managed to get there like this.
Primer > Blue > Silver (Spray gun)
    Black (with Spray Gun)

    Black Airbrush Detailing
    [IMG]
More Airbrushing (different colors + some sliver too give bit more metal/concrete effect)

On Today's Update we are finishing up the paint on most of the other parts. but before that we have to test the once we finished.

I made a little hinge to attach the panel to the frame. So this side can be opened. I also added some mechanical systems to make the Mobo Cover parts move.

But at the end of the day these rails did not work how I wanted them to. so I had to use expensive linear rails. :waah::waah::wallbash:

Anyway let's get back to painting the other sides.
