First of all I would like to thank Bit-Tech, Thermaltake and Scan for the opportunity given.

It's a great pleasure and honour to be part of this competition, I will surely do my best not to disappoint.

The main idea behind this mod is already completely formed in my head, a bit of planning has already gone into it but for the ones that know me, know how much I like to let the mod evolve along the way, freestyling surely won't harm :naughty: lol

Without wanting to reveal too much I leave you a picture and a name, let your imagination flow and mod on!!!

    Let the modding start

Right, so it's about time I start showing what I've been working on.

As stated before I will only be using tools I have at home and will not laser or CNC cut any parts, lately it seems that it became a big deal if the parts are done manually or not as such lets jump aboard and demonstrate what can be achieved...

I will not be using the drive bays as such that was one of the first things to be removed, what was the front of the core x31 will now be the bottom of the case and even though that it will barely be seen I know what's there and my OCD tells me that it has to look as stock as possible

Yeah, why rotate the motherboard tray when you can rotate the whole case??? :D

    Starting with some 2mm alu

Ready to sand and paint, hopefully will tie up nicely with the rest of the case

    Primed...

    Satin black and matt lacquer...

Yeah, happy with the result... :dremel:

Moving on to the bottom shroud, this will hide the some of the water cooling tubing that I don't want to be on display. 2.5mm alu for this...

Had to create some additional access to that bottom shroud, may even have to cut a bit more but will leave it like this until it comes to assembling the whole thing, will know for sure then. :dremel:

5mm frosted clear acrylic. Will be lit by the fabulous RGB ring fans and should diffuse the light nicely...

    M3 threaded acrylic inserts

Decided that the SSD will be going right in the middle of the bottom shroud, am going for a sort of levitation look to it but that won't be seen till at a later stage

    Cut, file, sand and result...

The PSU will also receive a makeover but for now just removing some stickers

Doing some mini shrouds that will cover the fans that I don't want to be visible...

JB Weld, best epoxy for metal

    http://i1296.photobucket.com/albums/ag11/redeagleslb/Magma Core Pics/24_zpsil1clt6w.jpg

Will come back to this later as it takes around 24hrs to fully cure

Moving on to fan grills. Brushed finish and PU lacquer on the cards

Will be back soon with some more...

    Mod on!!! :thumb:

:thumb: Looking great dude, I personally don't see the problem with using machines like a Laser/CNC to bring a design to life. Each to there own I suppose.

Lol. Could see someone doing this even before I posted the picture. Thanks mate

Fully agree, some of the work that needs to go into making it more of a 3d part can be quite overwhelming when not resourcing to laser/cnc machines. Had to be said though as it seems to be the new in thing, so much noise over making parts manually when in reality it's just time consuming. Nevertheless, this one is "true modder"'s style :thumb:
