Take a look on Amazon, it's a surprisingly underrated source of hard to find keyboards in the UK. Corus Keyboards are possibly of interest ;)

They look kinda weird, not sure if you can fit cherry keycaps on them?

I was thinking Corsair K65 - but don't know - can you fit cherry caps on those?

Guys, can I swap caps on CM TK? The one with backlit and numeric keys? Does it accept cherry caps? Any known issues?

Now I know K65 has funky bottom row so cannot use that one...

Margo Baggins may be the one to ask about TK caps - http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=268075

Darn it, another one out. Space bar is odd size:(

Ok guys, I really need a standard layout ANSI keyboard that will accept Sunshine caps. Anyone?

The keyboard company have ANSI filco models but they're not that cheap, about £120. Very solid no-frills boards though.

They also sold a G80-3494 which is an ANSI model with reds, I think I bought mine from them for about £75. It's a G80 though so big floppy plastic case, PCB mount etc. Advantage of being able to mod switches without desoldering is a plus.

As for the cooler master stuff they did tell me at one point ANSI layout would be sold through the EU store, but I don't think that ever happened?

Best bet might be the second hand market if none of the above appeal. I got a nice filco with browns for £70 on eBay.

I second Yslen's recommendation: if you don't want shiny, Filco is great. I have a Filco Majestouch-II with MX Blues and it's absolutely wonderful and happily takes standard keycap sets. No backlighting, macro, or anything clever like that, but full N-key rollover over USB - which is more than I could say for the Ducky I had a while back.

Filco also has costar stabilisers instead of cherry. Bit more fiddly putting caps on but IMO worth it for the better feel of stabilised keys.

If that's the case then I'd suggest getting a board with Cherry MX switches - they are better quality than Kailh and you can get a board for around the same price.

One ebuyer there is the Gigabyte Aviva Osmium for just shy of £62.

I think the keyboard has Cherry MX Red switches (linear) but the description is confusing because it mentions tactile feedback... which means either Browns or Blues.

In any case it'll be a good board at a very respectable price.

Never could stand Miami... but aged 4 I probably would have loved it!

Actually it was 1991, so I probably had a shell suit in those colours... :D

Edit: Oh lord, they actually made one...

My Filco mj2 is having issues, so while the left hand is off trying to get it repaired, the right hand is already looking at replacements (it's payday on Friday!).

So, to replace a filco mj2 full size with browns, what are my options? Build quality counts over anything else to be honest, lighting would be nice but non-essential and additional keys/functions aren't much interest to me.

Is the answer going to be another filco mj2 with browns?

edit: This is the first thing i've typed on blacks in a few years; dear god it's weird.

Having owned both a ducky (it was a shine 2 I think, technically) and a filco, both TKL with browns, I can say they're virtually identical experiences. The only difference is the backlighting and the stabilisers, both are a preference thing.
