Awesome stuff!! Love those custom thumbscrews! Well, until you painted them black anyway. :) That control center is slicker than pig poop!

Lol. Thanks Bartacus, thumb screws are still to be airbrushed, want them to blend in with the external panels. :thumb:

    Update 5

    Apologies for the late update.

Reality is that unfortunately sometimes challenges are thrown our way that make objectives harder to achieve.

Let's move on to the long overdue pictures

    Pumps support finished

    and in place

Time to block the Strix 970

That backplate will have to be trimmed to size

Done and started work on the actual backplate which will go on top of the original. Double backplate, doesn't get much better than that lol

What do u guys think? I'm liking it, will tie in with the external paint job nicely

Disaster, after a lot of work and whilst drilling the custom reservoir last hole it actually snapped, tryed to weld it together but due to the uncertainty decided that this will only happen at a later stage, most definitely after the deadline which means that won't be part of the competition :(

Moving on to better things hopefully

    Let the cutting start...

Who would say? Snow in April???

Gonna take forever to clean up this mess

    Test fitting

    Sanded and ready to progress

By then it was clear that I needed a helping hand. My lovely daughter came to the rescue ;)

    Detail pics of the texturing

    On to priming

Black base applied, silver and red brushed

    Orange and yellow next

Meanwhile the backplate was being clear coated

and the front rad supports done...

    GPU in place

    Rads in place

Just wanted to send a huge shout out to Shakmods for sponsoring those beauties for the build, will tie in really nice with the rest. Great looking cables

Didn't really take many pictures towards the end as it was a struggle and marathon to get the mod finished in time, to aggravate things had a leak and probs with the motherboard. Oh well, mod on!!!!

    Final shots next

    Final shots

Just want to say that this is the final competition shots but that there will be some more in the future. Build is as finished as I could get it for the deadline but there will be things to add. Front grills, custom reservoir, detail work, lateral windows, etc

Don't mind the long tubes on the thermaltake command centre side, they will be cut once the reservoir is fitted.

Cabling was a task and a half, whoever is familiar with the rgb ring fans knows that they have 5 pin connectors, extensions don't exist as such had to all be done. No pics though as it was a last minute job. Props to my brother for helping with that

    Thanks bro

    Love this picture

    and this one...

Can independently control all four sides of the internal lighting and 3 sides of the external, plus 3 rgb strips thanks to the thermaltake command centre

    That's it for now guys.

It was truly a pleasure and honour to be part of this competition, plus the chance to compete with the other four guys a thing of dreams.

Do hope that you enjoy magma Core.

Funnily enough I was asked today if I liked the final result, my answer was:

Wouldn't trade it for any other I've seen to date. Guess I am :) even though it's not completely finished

    Mod on!!!
