Oh my. :jawdrop: That is a sexy little piece! Great idea for a smaller build. Color scheme looks yummy too! Can't wait to see this one come together.:clap::clap:

    Thanks :)

I do love the purple/violet, I just find the colour really calming when paired with light tones.

If you both liked that, then you're going to love this...

    UPDATE!

No doubt some of you were thinking "What does that pump block do that a normal one doesn't?", the answer to that is, well, nothing. By itself it doesn't operate any differently to the ones I was supplied by Thermaltake. It was, however, a test bed for this thing instead:

(Remember to click for 4k res, definitely worth it)

I do love it. Funnily enough I am designing something not too dissimilar for my fantasy wall-mount PC. I couldn't find a cad model or detailed schematic to figure out how to incorporate the D5 pump though, so I was going to stick with a DDC. Got a link to what you used?

I'm really not looking forward to tapping all the holes mind...

I can't link the exact file this time unfortunately (I normally share my CAD models), but I can explain the process. I pretty much just eyeballed it and then compared with an existing d5 top. D5s are pretty much just a cylinder with a lip near the bottom, the end has a smooth, metal cap that's exposed to the coolant. The aftermarket tops basically just clamp the pump against an O-ring in the housing, which should be about visible in the test piece I posted earlier.

Once you have a pump in your hands it all makes sense, trust me haha

    Haha cheers Tim!

    Cheers man!

Fingers crossed, always wanted to do a purple build

    You and me both!

Hell I'd settle for even a little mill, seems a bit wasteful having to head over to Parvum for small jobs. Big ones like this though, hellz yeah!

    UPDATE!!

So you may ask, what the hell have I been doing all this time?

Well, to be frank, I don't have a very good answer for that. This update was delayed by almost 2 weeks thanks to a problem with my plastic supplier. I had ordered cast acrylic but they sent extruded, only found out once we started to cut it. In short, it broke the tool and was a complete disaster.

In the meantime, I decided it would be a sound investment to pick up a vinyl plotter! Figured it would be handy for making things like labels, fan hub stickers and of course stencils. Perfect, also, for replacing the SSD sticker with something more in keeping with the theme of the build.

First up, I picked up a load of these rather fancy screws. My thought was that the block could use a little colour, these looked just the ticket.

And the SSD in its new form!

F*** that hurt. Bloody sticker sliced through my finger to the tune of about 4mm, ended up needing stitches on this one.

    And here we go again.

    Cutting!

The tensest part, lining up for the double sided cuts
    [IMG]

Eurgh, tapping over 100 holes is not fun.

But the end result is definitely worth it

What are you using for your O-Rings? are they custom made?

absolutely beautiful block you've got there.
