    why though?

Tbh you'll be much better off strapping a hyabusa 1300cc motor to it and going all out and spinning the crabs out of the daring.

Or you could also go pneumatic. I wonder how many rotations you would get out of 11L scuba tank:rolleyes:.

Slot a large cog over the central support pole (welding or a keyway may be required) and run a wormwheel directly from a DC motor.

You can probably control the motor via Arduino.

I still persist on asking why?

But I had an idea. Why not a lot implement a screw lift. So it swivels and rises. For even more fuN! Heck got the whole way and make it dual action.

Please this - let's all agree to only give any more suggestions and / or advice on the condition that OP videos (a) building the motorised whirly chair-of-death and (b) the first test run (which has to be with him sat in it) :hehe:

Since the OP has ignored all requests for information, I'm assuming it must be for some strange sexy times thing. :eeek::jawdrop:

It's not a chair, the mechanism is to rotate something, but I doubt it's a chair. Possibly involves a tube though. :hehe:

All it needs is a sharp point fixed to a nearby wall, and we have our first human Spiralizer.

I was thinking about building a solid frame at the bottom of the chair housing the motor however this isn’t possible because when it starts spinning my legs either have to go else we need to go down another route.

So the solution would be to drill some holes through that tube we welded to the bottom of the chair build a frame supported by that tube then have the motor turning with the chair (with a long cable)?

We also need to put some teeth on the tube so that the chain can connect to the chair.

What worries me though is how strong are welds and will the tube be able to support a frame/motor which weighs quite a bit.

When i’m home later i’ll jump into photoshop and make a mock up

I thought i answered this in another comment but i intend to connect it to the internets for the world to control :) I do have a master plan but that’s irrelevant until we get this chair made.

If it's going to be interweb connected, you may want some kind of audio alert to give you time to lift your feet!

So i made a 2 minute mockup using photoshop, which shows what i’m aiming for, currently in discussion with the motor supplier on adjustments for speed and range and if it comes back it can be adjusted that’s the big issue sorted! :)

instead of using a button presser i wonder if we can somehow use a script to send the wireless signal to the lift :p

That's no good, too high revving with all the grunt near the top end. I would suggest a Tesla Model S motor, loads of torque from standstill, will spin him up nicely!

    1. Make high-speed rotating chair to be triggered by "the Internet".
    2. Forget to invest in wireless headset.
    3. ?????
    4. Profit Die

I can see no issue with this harebrained idea!
