Any impressions on the single player guys.

Really fancy this for the single player part but thought I would get your thoughts on that part first.

Nothing beats playing the original when it first came out. Ah, good times!

single player is excellent, proper old school fps with good movement/combat. level design is wonderful as well, none of this millennial narrow corridor **** with regen health.

after finishing it i can say its the Fury Road of gaming.

Yeah I can confirm, this is actually really good. Maybe I am just getting old but like NFS this has taken me by surprise. I didn't follow it, didn't play the beta and had no expectations and so far it's blowing me away. I'm also super impressed with the graphics, which I thought from the screenshots looked awful. You need to see it all moving it really is a visual delight.

I'm currently playing it on the easiest setting just to get a feel for it. Once I start getting better I will up the difficulty level a bit.

I was a bit nervous about handing over £26 for a game that had no reviews but it all does what it should and is a kosher Doom game IMO. I like how it moves nice and fast and I'm only playing it at 70 FPS (got a 70hz monitor). It flies.

I wasn't expecting much, but turns out id have continued their streak of me liking their games!

I was fearing the worst, given the age between this and the predecessor, but so far so good! Not finished yet, looking forward to a Nightmare playthrough.

I guess so. It's £26 or so but Amazon are selling hard copies for £30. Usually I would go with the latter, but was impatient.

its probably your gaming prowess having been dulled by the console focused drivel that is the modern FPS.

give it time, it'll come back.

So much this ^. Also, be careful how dark you have the game. I had it too dark and couldn't see where I had to go so I spent about 40 minutes running around the same area lol.

Brightened it up and it all came to life :D
