Am I also allowed to post my workbench? 'Cos that's pretty awful at the moment.

There's everything there (in a bit of a mess at the moment unfortunately) from SMD soldering to a compound miter saw, there's leather working stuff, car maintenance stuff, photography stuff, keyboard stuff, there're taps and dies, carbon fibre, drafting instruments, marker pens, a pile of plans and elevations I'm working my way through, there's an A2 guillotine hiding in there somewhere! There are books on architecture, goldsmithing, pi, tape measures, a disto, and various other bits and bobs...

It gets like this from time to time - the ridiculous thing is there's only about ten minutes tidying there.

Given I am at Mrs VT's desk today sorting out her PC I will show a couple of pics. I'm quite ashamed of this actually I've basically used it as a dumping ground for my crap. Worst of all is the FO Nuke. I had no idea it would be this big so can't put it in the cupboard as there's no room :(

And about 10% of my trainer collection lives underneath.

And what the surrounding area of my desk looks like. Here we can clearly see "crap corner" as well as two boxes on the floor packed with modding parts for my latest project.

Most of that is usually on my desk.

They're for cleaning my ears. Note also the ear buds. During the summer if I wear headphones I get ear infections due to the heat. So I clean my ears before putting the cans on then in theory I don't get an ear infection :)

Good grief you work in a gorgeous looking wide open space... Compared to the dungeon I have to call an office. It's basically a windowless storage closet with a bench in it.

I'm actually in the process of writing a formal complaint to the boss which I'm hoping will force him to have it extended next year. My plan is to take up a little more of the room it occupies which will give me space to move around, room for an actual desk and a window... I'll take a photo of how it is at the moment and post it here tomorrow.

I have to say I'm not surprised that most of us have criminally untidy desks. Mine has been like this for a while. My HDDs are still in a stack on the desk rather than inside the case...
