Oh my God I want one, I want it NOW!

Cintiq! Prepare to meet your destiny!

My only worry about it is that hinge/stand, the way I monkey hang off my Cintiq or any drawing table I can see that thing ending up suspiciously RMA'd for a 'hinge failure'. Then again, that presents an excuse to buy a new desk that I can dangle off instead of the machine. The form factor, resolution and the N-Trig stylus Microsoft use all look near perfect to me.

Don't forget that circle thingy, seems pretty useful for some tasks.

Woah. I have a special place in my heart (and on my desk) for faintly ridiculous AIOs, and this juuuuuust right.

I desperately hope that the MiniDP on the back goes both ways.

I want it so much. It looks absolutely stunning.

I wonder if the Dial would work in 3D CAD packages as space mouse?

Yeah, same here. It does look really nice, as do all the Surface products to be fair.

I like how on the Macbook thread people bash apple for the prices but everyone so far is ok with paying $2,999 for a touch screen, bonkers.

To be fair I think only one person has said they'd be buying one.

At least it got four USB 3.0, 3.5mm jack, a Mini DisplayPort, an SD card slot and an Ethernet port and accessories. That's about right! :thumb:

Kidding aside, it's expensive too. But if I had to choose between the MacBook Pro or this, I would go for this one.

Is it cheap? no... Is it a rip-off? depends what you're comparing it to I suppose....

You'd pay $2800 for a 27" Wacom cintiq w/ touch [+ the cost of the stand so you could adjust like you can with the surface studio and then add a PC/mac to power it], and imo that's what it's competing against, not the iMac.

From where i'm sat, it looks as if MS are hoping there are enough creative types who'll opt for the this over a cintiq + standalone pc/mac.

I think you are missing one minor part, and that is that the base contains a whole PC too.

$2'999 for a system (albeit middlingly powerful), slightly better than 4k screen and a professional grade drawing tablet.

My Cintiq 24hd was $2'000 by itself. This thing's got USB ports too...
