So my brother went ahead and brought a new rig. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/WrfJGf Ignore gpu, he went and brought this one. https://www.cclonline.com/product/2...3-0-DisplayPort/HDMI/Dual-Link-DVI-D/VGA3715/ But it keeps crashing when playing games like overwatch. I suspect the motherboard or power is not compatible. Can anyone confirm? Also what do you think about the rig? I havent built one for a long time so don't know what is current gen that is good. Thanks
It should all work together looking at the list. The power supply should also be sufficient. Have you got the latest drivers installed? Can you try using the onboard graphics only? (make sure to uninstall the AMD graphics drivers as well). It'll be slow, but it should help you find what the problem is Could be the power supply, or graphics card
That would lead me to suspect that the GPU is at fault then. Can you test the GPU on another computer? If it shows errors elsewhere then you need to return it for a working replacement
Will give that a try. If anything we will have to return the gpu. However we are considering getting the 1060 if we do. I assume that is better?
The 1060 is slightly faster in some games, while losing in others vs the RX 480. The performance is around the same level, whichever you buy.
