The only thing with monitor USB hubs is, at least on my Dell, if the monitor went to sleep the USB would disconnect.

 

I will only be using the extra USB's to connect cameras when I need to download images so not likely to be an issue.

 

Is that such a bad thing? Only my keyboard & mouse are plugged into the monitor. If the monitor's asleep, I'm unlikely to need those.

 

Does your PC wake from the monitor when plugged in there ? Mine never did. It's worse if you decide to read from USB disk over a network and it disappears ... just realised, a wake on LAN alert would probably have solved that.

 

Is this question aimed at me? If so I am not sure what you mean.

 

Responding to IanW's comment Kronos, and no, it's not going to be a problem for the cameras you wish to connect.

 

TBH I don't let my monitor sleep. That's what the power button is for.
