It won't run DX anything, PS4 used GNM as its bare-metal API (and GNMX as the higher level variant). DX12/Vulkan are more abstracted than GNM, so would be giving up performance.

Remember 300W is the entire console system power, not just APU TDP. As for process, the Xbox Slim is on TSMC's 16FF+, so it's possible the PS4 Pro will be too (the 'fat' PS4 is 28nm TSMC planar, as was the original XB1, state of slim PS4 unknown).

There is only exclusives between Xbox/PS now. They'll always end up on PC one way or another, plus, you can't really do FPS on PC and games like Civ VI won't get a console release.

OK so 5W for HDD and 5% for the memory and a few watts for the other chips, but since it's an SOC 90% of that power is from the one chip.

All new consoles are on TSMC's 16FF

You could easily double the performance the equivelent PC Card would offer as well. 180watt gpu 65 watt CPU?

    Would just about make sense.

Sonys pricing on the pro makes you wonder how Microsoft will justify Scorpio at £500 if rumours are true.

6TFLOP vs 4.2TFLOP. If Scorpio is really Vega-based with GDDR5X it'll whip the Pro.

I'm not so convinced; assuming scaling per TFLOP within AMDs line, 6TFLOP is just barely enough just render the exact same content the XB1 currently is at 4x the resolution (~4x current perf.), at the same framerate and without any enhancements to detail.
In practical terms, I suspect we'll see a difference in performance between the PS4 Pro and XB Scorpio as similar to that between the PS4 and XB1 (both separated by approx 1.5x delta). An advantage, but nowhere near anything decisive or dramatic.

Same can not see a huge advantage for either side. Tflop also means little, AMDs cards have always till the recent Nvidia 1080 and above card always had a TFlop advantage over Nvidias competing cards.

By the time it launches the pro will be sub £250, if it launches at £500 double cost for not double performance.

Either that, or fan speed high enough to trigger nostalgia of the 4870x2.

To be fair, they also mention a price of £521 for the 1080 while it can be found here for £449.
But even if we replaced that 835 with 735 it would still be far too much.

OK so apparently those prices are just place holders. So yeah, bogus basically.

That's what they get for using a large die and HBM2. Then they go and make it look like a cheap plastic Polaris. AMD have been desperate to make it look like a premium product like the 1080Ti (why they keep comparing it to that is laughable tbh) but performance talks and BS walks. And I have a feeling Vega will limp.

Seriously, the whole thing has been awful since the beginning. WTF are they thinking? they're clearly out of touch or deluded. F*****g blind tests FFS. It's like they are trying to sell herbal remedies. They do that s**t !!!

So basically Vega can fool some people into thinking its as good as a 1080Ti.
