    That's a fairly brave statement to make in view of AMD's Ryzen and Threadripper releases.

    Ahem. If AMD doubles - doubles - its share of the CPU market tracked by PassMark results, Intel will still hold the monopoly position. Intel's CPUs account for 92.8 percent of the supercomputers in the latest TOP500 list; AMD's chips sit at 1.2 percent (below even IBM's Power BQC at 3.2 percent).

    Could those figures change? Sure, AMD has already won back a chunk of mainstream market share from Intel. At the moment, though, Intel is in the overwhelming majority shareholder position - hence my statement.
