    I find it hard to believe that

    a) This information was put on a USB stick in the first place
    b) A computer that doesn't have the ports off or auto encryption, which even my school locked down use back in the early 00's.

    my guess is either a really disgruntled employee or a third party sole the data and "accidentally" lost or leaked it. Surprised it was found on a train, the traditional UK wiki location for secrets.

    this is most likely a collection of information then collated on a USB so it makes sense it was on a USB. About the encryption thing. If there's one thing we've learnt this year is a lot of big companies don't know about encryption. Also has there actually been definitive proof these are real and not just some hoax

    As usual, good opsec is the most important ingredient in the security pie.
