Well, it IS the most expensive car in the world, so... Ok no, i'm struggling to justify the price.

I think you'll find the Ferrari configurator would demand a more than a snip more than £350 for a wooden steering wheel option, so this is a steal.

That's a full-sized one in a car though, no? This is an 8:10 scale (4:5 scale?) replica. The one in the real car would (I assume) be fabricated to a somewhat higher standard, 'cos if it were to break, a person might get hurt. If this game controller breaks? So what!

Also, if you want to drive a Ferrari? Drive a Ferrari!

I didn't think that there was any requirement to use a tongue-in-cheek smiley there. It appears I was wrong.

No I'm just being obstinate with you whilst waiting for it to be appropriate to have a large gin and tonic...

If (big if) it is a fairly bespoke low run item, well crafted and made of nice materials then maybe £350 isn't completely unreasonable.

It would have to have the moulded rear grip as shown here though: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ferrari_250_GTO_ser._no._3647GT_interior.jpg
If it doesn't and it's just a smooth wooden wheel that means it's not as functional as the real one, not a proper replica, and that despite it costing £350 they cheaped out on the construction because it looked okay without.

5pm... what on earth are you waiting for?

The added bonus with this wheel is that you can drive following said large gin and tonic and not worry about pranging your $20m classic Ferrari.

Would you look at that. Sun successfully over yard-arm. You make a fair point about not pranging one's $20m Ferrari... Virtual drunk driving is far safer. Now, where's that (virtual) rifle...

I don't get the 8/10 scale thing, if someone was an obsessive enough Ferrari fan to blow £350 on a replica steering wheel wouldn't they want it to be the correct size?

That was kind of my thought too(once I got past "wtf" and into just "not for me"). Surely the people that want this are going to demand a proper full-size wheel?

I suppose it's an indication of quite how large vintage steering wheels are relative to modern racing wheels. This is something you're meant to be able to use rather than just look at. It might be more authentic, but I bet for a lot of sim-racer's modern sensibilities a 1:1 wheel would feel more suited to Truck Simulator.
