    VM have also been upping prices recently.

    Correct, but mbit for mbit, when you factor in the savings of not needing a landline just to receive broadband, VM is much better value.

    If, like me, you live in a small village, Virgin is out of the question as they are just not interested in cabling such places where they won't get a big return.

    I was in the same boat as you until I moved, see top quote from earlier in this thread. All I'm saying is that now I've got the choice of both, I'd always take VM because BT mugged me for years.
