    The one thing that's amazed me throughout this whole thing is how resilient Intel's stock prices have been.

    Probably a combination of there thus far not being any high profile (or even low profile really) exploits actually using MELTDOWN or SPECTRE, and the fact that SPECTRE affects everyone, not just Intel.

    The gaul of them - important to keep up to date. Really?

    How about it's important for you to not implement bad designs?

    If you do though, what about how it's important for you not to release borked updates?

    Oh what about how it's important not to have a big share selling on the day you give some companies a warning on your processor flaws?

    I think it's also important not to treat your customers like trash either.

    Read this as "Unfortunately, these updates will be made available" first time I read this article which, I think, would be more accurate regarding the roll-out of these updates by OEMs.
