    I mean, I use the thing as a footrest and it has its own 3A mains supply, so...

    Wonder if I know anyone with a spectrum analyser that'll go down that low?

    I was thinking less along the lines of footrest, and more along the lines of mini-fridge.

    Or better still, not-so-mini fridge.

    Yeah, that one may be off the deep end a bit (ha, zing!). That's a Velodyne DD1812. A limited run, £12000 uber-sub. It's overkill (aka exactly the correct amount of kill) for just about any setting. Sadly that's a google image, as I don't have one at my immediate disposal.

    Easiest way check it out is to just throw some test tones at it and use the old fashioned approach (i.e. ears), and listen for the point where volume drops off - it will keep making some sort of noise all the way down, but volume will eventually roll off to virtually non-existent.

    A spectrum analyser is more likely to tell you more about the frequency response of the mic than the speakers at those frequencies.

    £400-ish - that's firmly in "too expensive" territory for me, sadly. My entire PC cost £500. Again with the shiny black, exposed cone aesthetic, too - my desk is white, I want something that isn't going to stick out like a sore thumb. The Labtecs are classic 90s PC beige with a fabric cover.

    BRING BACK BEIGE PCs AND ACCESSORIES, DAMMIT.

    Oh, I didn't see that - white'd be better, but £280's still too rich for my blood. £100, maybe £150, that'd be my limit.
    Did a quick and entirely-unscientific test using the tone generator in Audacity: nice and loud from 30Hz down, starts to drop off around 25Hz, and is quiet but still present at 20Hz. Probably not audiophile spec, and if I were in the music creation rather than consumption biz I'd be wanting more, but it does for me.

    Bunch of teas to try out from Yunnan Sourcing, mostly sample sizes.
    - First Flush Mao Feng Yunnan Green Tea (Spring 2017)
    - Imperial Gold Needle Yunnan Black Tea (Spring 2017)
    - Purple Needle Black Tea of Jing Mai Mountain (Spring 2017)
    - Imperial Grade Jasmine Pearls
    - Chou Shi King of Duck **** (yes) Dan Cong Oolong (Spring 2017)
    - Menghai Tea Factory 7572 Ripe Pu-ehr (2010)

    And a Samadoyo SAG08 teapot to brew gong fu style. Mostly to prevent myself from contracting tea G.A.S. (in addition to the photography stuff already...) once I get started buying a proper gaiwan, cups, a tea tray, a tea pet, etc. etc.

    Already had a first set of (8) steepings of the green tea (see image above). Really nice, with an especially pleasant aftertaste, even in the final cups. By far the cheapest tea I got too, so very chuffed.
    Looking forward to trying the King of Duck **** and the pu-ehr (which I've never had before).

    I use a pair of Bahco side-cutters. Good enough to cut DT Stainless spokes, good enough for nails. :grin:

    Perfefctly understandable; a good set of nailclippers is a handy thing to own, particularly for those pesky toenails (which seem to evolve into steel plating as I'm getting older). I recognise most of the instruments in that box (I see some things that are probably for cleaning gunk out from under the nails and some tweezers), but what are these for? Modelling clay? Performing vasectomies? Scooping out eyeballs? Draining the blood of your enemies?

    Edit: Forgot to mention, since this is the latest purchases thread, that I recently had to buy a new dishwasher since the old one crapped out on me (planned obsolescense is a bitch to be honest).

    Brand new and unopened Rock Shox Reverb bleed kit - £10 posted from Ebay

    Installed the post today, but pissed oil everywhere in the process so it needs a top-up and bleed. Was really, REALLY resenting the idea of paying £25-30 for the official kit (essentially 2 syringes, a couple of adaptors and some fluid), and wasn't sure if I trusted buying a cheap aftermarket kit either, but got lucky and saw this one!

    I have found a space in my hall way for it and will basically consolidate all of my tools and power tools into the one thing. I can then wheel it anywhere in the flat I need it, much easier.

    List of the tools, bolded the ones im thinking they are ( im confused too)

    -1 x Tweezers

    -1 x Eyebrow/nose hair scissors
    -1 x Toe nail clippers
    -3 x Finger nail clippers (Small, Medium & Bevelled)
    -1 x Nail file
    -1 x Ear pick
    -1 x Ear cleaning disc pick
    -1 x Blackhead remover
    -1 x Cuticle pusher
    -1 x Peeling knife
    -1 x Peeling fork

    They list them as "14 essential tools", meh who knows

    Vault-tec, you will never loose that tool box! Get some rolls of tool box liner or foam in there though.
