Project AHO quest mod for Skyrim SE. Pretty decent I have to say, Telvani & Dwemer storyline. Considering it's free, not half badly voice acted at all, got sidequests, well designed new areas and, well, fun I think everyone should give it a go. It plays nicely with all my 100 or so mods too (no CTDs at all for me) and i'm still in there several hours on and not finished the main quest and sidequests. I've never played one. What do you do exactly? ATM playing Chuchel w/kids, Dirt 4, Wildlands and trying to get into the Long Dark
It's a fighting action-RPG set in Tokyo with an open-ended city to douche around in. The map is an open city full of stores and places for side activities - karaoke, bowling, gambling, hostess bars (like prostitution, but talking instead of sex) etc. As well as getting picked on for random fights. There's the main story, which is a Japanese organised crime thriller conspiracy type deal usually, real serious and mature and always ends with a manly shirtless fight on top of a tall building. But the best part are the substories (side missions), which are more memorable than the main game and a complete juxtaposition. You get asked for help by bystanders as per any RPG, 5 minutes later you're being chased by rabid kids who think you're Santa, or molested by a transexual, or helping a superhero fight crime, or trying to help a boy buy porn by stealthing like Solid Snake, or helping Michael Jackson film a video, or checking your business takings with your manager... who is a chicken. It's the juxtaposition that does it really. One minute you're having some intense battle with a grizzled killer, the next you're dramatically racing toy cars with 8 year olds. And they make it work.
Really the only similarities are it's set in a city and the civilians are all weirdos. In all those other games you drive around, blow stuff up and shoot people. In this game you walk around, beat up groups of thugs, play minigames and get in people's wacky sticky situations for the most part. The immersion is incredible in this version though, 'cause it's a series revamp with a new engine. Can walk into an arcade and play real Virtua Fighter, Super Hang-On etc. for example. I mean I just found out it has webcam girls with 'old man and other pervs typing out hilariously perverted things' gameplay. Not even GTA had that level of immersion.
Meanwhile I'm on the 4th different delivery estimate from amazon for the Yakuza 6 limited edition... So playing the remaster of Yakuza 1 again.
The Japanese remaster or English remake (Kiwami)? Remake improved Yakuza 1 in every way. My pre-order came 2 days late, but I guess that balances out the times I got it 3 days early.
Sounds interesting, I'll pick up a copy of Yakuza once I've cleared a few more of my current games on the PS4. Currently finishing off Human Fall Flat on the PS4, I think I'm on the second to last level. Also currently replaying Pillars of Eternity on the PC in preparation for PoE 2 Deadfire.
Mother 3, the English fan translation of course. What a weird, weird game, unlike anything else out there (other than Mother 1 and Earthbound I presume). I'm about 10 hours in and really like it so far.
English one, yeah its definitely a huge improvement even if in some places you can still tell its based on an old game.
Metro Redux - missed both games the first time around, but for a fiver on PS Store at the moment, can't be a bad way to kill some time until FC5 and God of War come under my £30 threshold.
I don't like horror, or post apocalyptic stuff really, but I thought the original Metro was amazing, and the redux in theory just makes it better. Actually have it myself and need to replay sometime.
Put about 6 hours into FC5 yesterday. We finally killed our first "boss". It seems we got a little side tracked and ended up entering Faith territory and did a load there, before realising we should be focused on John. So we back tracked to his county and finished that off. Was great fun.
Since getting a Playseat Challenge I've mainly been playing Forza 7 and Project Cars. I decided to bite the bullet and ordered Project Cars 2 yesterday so more racing fun will be had. And by 'fun' and I mean pulling-my-hair-out-because-I've-set-the-difficulty-too-high-and-also-AI-is-stupid. In other news I bought Theme Hospital from GOG for my 8 year old daughter and she's addicted.
Taking a break from The Witcher 2 (recently finished The Witcher and was sort of bummed out that they completely ignored the fact that I went with Shani, but I'll get back to The Witcher 2 eventually) in order to play Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Taking PSVR for a spin - super impressed, well beyond my expectations. GT Sport: Shows potential, great experience, but the graphics definitely suffer. It's far from unplayable and depending on track and lighting conditions you can kind of forget about it, but it would really benefit from greater detail and moar pixels. I've gone from being generally nonplussed about the next gen of consoles to being a day-one adopter just for VR racing. Wipeout Omega Collection: Now this is more like it. I think because it's CGI worlds from the get go and everything is moving so fast you don't even noticed the drop in image quality compared to the screen. The experience is like nothing I've ever played, the best gaming experience I've had in many years, possibly ever. I played for an hour with middle-ish motion settings and found it just fine, even on the tracks which specifically warn about motion sickness. I decided to kick it up to full vomit comet (lock to pilot, max FoV etc) and was unprepared for just how disorienting it was... no nausea, just so overwhelming I had to stop. I played something else for a bit and went back in and took it easy on the lowest speeds and flattest tracks for a bit, gradually working up to higher speed classes and loopier tracks and got used to it fairly quickly - and it's awesome, definitely the way to play if you can stomach it. I mean, it's definitely full-on and not for the faint hearted/headed/stomached, but then you're travelling on loopy tracks at 500mph so it's supposed to be. The Playroom: This was an included game with the headset so wasn't expecting much, but it's really enjoyable. It's like a Mario meets Little Big Planet sort of arrangement - super cutesy and cartoony, but works really well in VR, and the perspective opens up a lot of interesting gameplay. I did have to go find my Shures though for the added sound isolation over the included buds to block out my wife giggling at me. Looking forward to playing Farpoint and Doom with the aim controller I have on order. There were a couple of PS Plus monthly VR games recently I "bought" also, Rigs which looks okay, and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood which looks horrifying. I set up a HUKD alert for the move controllers (and adult nappies) to play the latter, Superhot also requires them and I'm sure a bunch of other games worth playing. Resident Evil 7 is tempting at £15, or £25 for the DLC edition, but I might have to play Until Dawn first to harden the nerves. How have you been getting on with it? I'm 90% committed to a wheel and seat setup with either a G29 or T300RS GT, and it seems like the only option out there for something that can be easily stowed.
I think it's fantastic. It's got enough adjustment I can get a nice driving position, it's relatively cheap (I paid almost as much for a Wheelstand Pro a number of years back) and it folds up nicely with everything held down and connected ready to stash in an airing cupboard, etc. I'm using it with a Thrustmaster TMX Pro and my only criticism is the method for attaching the pedals (velcro) is a bit naff. I'd prefer to hard mount them but afaik this would require some modding.
Do the pedals move around all that much? Seems to me the velcro would be there only to prevent what little side-to-side motion there might be. Seems it would be a fairly simple mod to sort out a hard fixing point though. Any flexing from the wheel platform, i.e. with particularly strong FFB? One of the things that tempts me towards the T300 is the additional torque on offer over the G29, but not if it's going to flex and creak. Are you using a shifter - playseat attachment or just attached to the stand itself?
The pedals don't move forwards as you press them because they push up against a front support bar. I certainly don't notice any excessive play but the size of the T3PA pedals means the velcro is barely big enough to wrap around them. Like I said though, not a big issue at all and they stay put when I'm stamping on them! There can be some flexing of the platform if I pull hard on the wheel. I haven't investigated but I suspect it's down to the foldable design meaning there's a bit more play in the build here and there. It's not something that bothers me though. I don't use a shifter. I want one but the T8HA is a bit pricey and the wife might kill me after dropping a few hundred quid on the seat and TMX. If I do eventually get it I'll be buying the official shifter add-on from Playseat.
