Strangely i really like the sound of these, it's not something I'd ever use or buy as I'm really boring and buy fans based on their ability to move air, but i can see the appeal of linking a PCs lighting and fans to voice control.

Saves having to fiddle around in the software on the PC itself or having to bend down to adjust the speeds (if you control your fan speed via hardware).

Not much of a benefit, because the "set up once and forget about it" fan control implemented by mainboard manufacturers in the UEFI has advanced to the point where other methods of fan control are effectively redundant.

Yes, there are some cheap / old mainboards that lack detailed UEFI integrated fan control, but I doubt people who are willing to pay the premium for these fans own such mainboards.

    this should work ok.

The only thing I have ever told Alexa to do is "Shut up" and as Thermal Take fans are pretty quiet, i think they're already doing it ;-)

Who does that? Do people do that?

Like Anfield said, they tend to look after themselves.

Genuinely would like to know any point to this.

Don't really get the negativity. Sure they're not for you, but maybe someone wants them, no harm to you.

Yeah not for me, hence why I was asking the question.

I like to learn rather than just be quiet.

You think Cambridge Analytica was bad? Just wait until we find out how the data from those voice assistants gets abused...

If I ever know someone who uses these THINGS, the first thing I will do is shout into their room "Alexa, turn off all the computer fans."

Pity that won't cause a processor to self-destruct anymore. Anyone that buys this clearly has more money than sense, and need to spend some more of it.
