    Sorry for your loss, dude.

That is a weird one. I’d be happy on one hand that he’s no longer suffering and sad on the other as he’s gone. :(

That is somewhat how I saw it for my grandpa when he passed back in 04.

Woke up this morning to a "Degraded" 48TB ZFS storage array (RAID-Z2 = Software RAID6). 1 drive is "Faulted" and "Repairing". 5 more are "Repairing"...

Ouch... ZFS can be a handful to work with.

Serious if you're lucky-enough to have ceiling roses in each room... Don't spray paint them different colours!

I have an update to the above. Got home and checked the array, "Faulted" drive now isn't, and ZFS is already 60% through rebuilding the corrupted data. Bad news is that it's claiming it won't finish until around 6am Sunday.

So I really screwed up with the Jeep Liberty I bought. I bought it off my wife's colleague's husband, who seemed nice, told me he got rhe car fixed up, replaced the hand brake brake pads. Hand brake wasn't working though, he told me the cable just needed to be tightened. I didn't get the car checked because he seemed trustworthy and seemed to know what he talked about, this was my mistake.

After a long drive, the car started shaking violently when pulling from a complete stop. Took it to a mechanic today, he said the hand brake brake pads weren't in properly, that screwed up the rear right bearings, the brakes, the diff, the gear box. To fix will cost me 2000 usd, at least.

Now my wife is now furious at me. I did her wrong before we started dating, really tore her up emotionally (she's diagnosed chronically depressed and anxious, exponentially increasing the harm I did). She uses this against me and there's nothing I can say back justifiable.

I'm absolutely gutted now, I don't know what to do. We spent all her savings on that bloody car which was meant to be for her doctorate defence in December. I'm not allowed to work because I need a green card which costs 450 usd and can take up to 3 months to be approved.

    **** me.

I've had job rejections before but this one takes the piss

email firm enquiring if job posting is still available, get a response asking 3 questions

are you local? (yeah I'm 13 miles from your office)
do you have experience working in games? (yeah)
do you have experience working in 3ds max? (yeah)

never even sent them my cv and got a rejection saying that my skills dont meet their needs. i never even sent these useless cock mongs my cv!

Can't say someone is overqualified if you don't know what they're qualified in. was tempted on sending back a shitty response but decided to put the kettle on instead.

    Are your responses there verbatim?

Maybe they were looking for a little bit more than "yeah"

I’m positive when i’m doing something my partner moves my stuff to random places, i can’t just misplace crap every 5 minutes. It’s been driving me mad for months surely if things were this bad i’d be old age in a old people's home. I’m losing my brain

The leaning towers of Pisaudio need furniture buying. But I don't want to before I move. Goshdarnit.
