    Been toying with a Zen+ setup (maybe waiting for Zen2 though) and this seemed to be the best of an otherwise generally bad bunch of matx B450s, nice to see this review too.

    As for an M.2 heatsink, going by other tests i've seen it looks like ones bundled with MSI in the past actually trap the hot air underneath and increase the temperatures there.

    How was the BIOS btw?

    Just added links to out previous MSI BIOS analysis!

    Depends on the SSD. I think Gamer Nexus used a Kingston SSD and this had components on both sides so yes, unless you cool it underneath too it will heat up. Samsung SSDs on the other hand, not only have components on the top side only, but the underside also has a thin copper-backed label that acts like a heatsink so you don't need to worry too much there.

    The idle numbers you mean, i thought the same, maybe something didn't enter a sleep state.

    Seems to be an MSI B450 issue - I got the same results with the B450 Tomahawk I had to hand as well.

    these power consumption numbers don't look right. you might have a faulty mobo right there.
