I think describing it as how a six year old would write Han Solo's origin story and that the six year old would love it, but every adult in the room would be waiting for him to shut up, is an entirely fair assessment. However if it has killed off Disney's Origin Story Saga plans then it is surely the most significant film of 2018 and for that we should all be thankful.
I enjoyed it, but then I did watch it on a plane after a few glasses of breakfast champagne, and had a 15 minute snooze in the middle. Maybe that's the key?
Bladerunner 2049 great with pie&chips/10 Watched straight after the Directors Cut of the original and it flowed really well. Actually I think it helped even make Gosling look like he had a decent performance. One thing, if Alexa evolves like that Amazon will have all of the world's money.
I ****ed a dude once, and I found that meme hilarious. There's your get-out-of-jail-free card on it. You're welcome. (Then again, I sometimes get accused of being wildly inconsistent and tasteless, so make what you will of it.) edit - forgot to add a movie to my post. Bad form. It's The Martian, 9/10. I can barely fault it, it's one of my favourite films now. The wire-based zero-gravity effects are really crap, though, and now I've noticed it it's really glaring compared to films like Interstellar, Gravity and Life. Sorry if I just drew your attention to it too, you won't be able to unsee it.
Alien Covenant: It's an Alien movie dagnammit!/10 Yeah it's an Alien movie, unlike the first prequel Prometheus, this is where we start to see the development of the Alien movie format in full. So yeah, fun enough, but you know what you're getting and you know the 'twists' and 'turns'. But yeah, worth watching but not worth watching again.
I really wouldn't have thought I would need a get out of jail card for a meme using quotes from the original to demonstrate what a bunch mommas boys the people in the new film are. If I'd have called someone a faggot in an aggressive way with derogatory intentions, then I'd expect a clout from a mod.
it gets better, apparently the kid is special needs and deciphers the Predator language in the film. its been 2 hours since I read that and my eyes are still ****ing rolling.
According to TV Tropes, Timmeh's autism is the next step in human evolution and he is considered the only real warrior among humans.
I don't know, not having seen it, but I'm given to understand it had a director change mid way through and had a lot of reshoots that ****ed the budget up and messed with everything else. Spoiler I also heard something about Han being painted as the 'good guy' all the time, which, given his return to help/save Luke was meant to be a turning point for the character, has irked some of the hardcore fanbase.
It was a badly-written origin story no-one really wanted for a character that has already had his origins/motives/personality traits messed with in the editing booth much to the audience's annoyance.
