It’ll be just the one. We can’t afford multiple right now. They’re so expensive!

Power outage! The first time the UPSes have been used in anger at a time it would have been disruptive to lose power.

Feeling smug. So long as it comes back in the next 40 minutes...

Last time I had that smug feeling, the power was off for six hours...

Just back on now, total outage of around 30 minutes - basically the perfect amount of time.

Total disruption: I couldn't make an espresso when I wanted one. Win.

We took a drive, had a little walk, saw a red kite.

    Autumn looks beautiful today.

Can't beat that smug off-grid feeling. We have a planned outage next week, going to run the modem/router off my big ole battery backup all day. Thinking of changing the SSID to something suitably annoying for everyone

No, that was the disruption - I went to make a coffee and realised it was switched off. I'm not sure a UPS to run a 3kw espresso machine would fit in the kitchen.

I was tempted to start playing some music at volume with the windows open

The coffee machine really is the only important appliance to warrant its own UPS.

Speaking to my brother today about trying resisting the urge to buy one of the 1070's that are in the mp and he offers me a 980ti he has spare. Win. :thumb:

Then go in search of a copper watercool heatkiller block I've been drooling over for ages, only to find they only did nickel plated versions for the 980ti/Titan X. I messaged the community rep for watercool who confirmed this, but says to drop him an email and they should be able to do me one. Result!

I don't think it would cost anymore than the nickel plated one, it might even be a smidge cheaper as they are not having to nickel plate it.
