    So i read 'industrial-grade product for advanced simulation in virtual reality' as advanced stimulation, damn this one track mind of mine. ;)

    Being a haptic/tactile output device, it's both.
    Sadly, soft-body physics simulations still suuuuuuuck for real-time interaction. Even rigid-body simulation suitable for haptics is hilariously crude (it's a much harder problem than just in-game physics simulation, particularly with more than 1 contact point), once you start adding fixed-volume deformation and distributed multi-axis 'springyness' (not that a restrained single-axis spring isn't an issue on its own) then good luck doing it in real-time outside of an HPC cluster.
