After missing out on entering the Galax GOC online qualifier, managed to snag myself an 8ECC Beast ln2 pot which is something I've been after for a while.

    A very miscellaneous few days...

Ubiquiti USG-Pro-4 and a couple of MM SFPs and a pair of Noctua A4X20 fans
    [IMG]

    Individually calibrated MiniDSP UMIK-1
    [IMG]

    ipad mini 4 128GB, gold
    [IMG]

    Bauer LS3 Edge Runners
    [IMG]

    Bauer Speedplate 2.0 Insoles
    [IMG]

    Pair of Neutrik RCA>XLR adaptors
    [IMG]

A very cheap and cheerful USB hub
    [IMG]

A couple of rack shelves, depth extenders and cable management panels.

Also switch from single Tidal Hifi plan to a family plan.

I had to google both of these things, and the photo didn't help. Looks hardcore though!

GOC is an overclocking event hosted by Galax, was hoping to enter the online qualifier (prize of which is ticket to the live finals in China) but the required hw sold out before I could sell enough stuff to cover it :p

And the pot is for ln2 overclocking, one of the best and one happened to come up for sale just after I realised I missed the GOC qualifier so I jumped on it :p

    d'oh... I should have posted a wanted.

I guess you could say I "use XLR" almost every day - The monitors in my office are XLR only. To attach these to the DAC I was using RCA to 1/4" jack adaptors, and then a 1/4" balanced jack to XLR cable (a long, long time ago I had en EMU card with 1/4" balanced jack outputs, hence the slightly odd cable).

The RCA->1/4 adaptors were really awkward though, given that they stuck out around 3" from the DAC, so wanted to move the adaptors to the speaker side and just use an RCA interconnect.

I'm pretty impressed so far. I just got fed up of buying cheapo kits that break when you need them most.

First thing I looked at were the photos, and then I looked at the price. I assumed the prices were either US dollars or Pounds Sterling and nearly sh@t myself. Then I noticed the Norwegian text and realised that the price is actually NOK...

    More air rifle stuff:

Combro MK4 - great little chronoscope for measuring muzzle velocity and ensuring rifle is legal
    [IMG]

Cheap laser measure for quick'n'dirty range-finding - this was £19
    [IMG]

Tin of Air Arms Diabolo Field 16gr. pellets

I've got one of them - works like a charm, but just watch yourself lining it up. There's a reason that "I accidentally shot it" is called out as a specific exemption in the warranty terms...
Get yersen one of the test bundles from FleaBay - 20 or so each of a bunch of different pellet types. You'll find a type that your rifle prefers, then buy a tin or two of those.

Had a Combro before but not with a springer, so I'll be taking extra care for sure. These pellet bundles sound like a good idea - thanks for the heads up! :thumb:

:hehe: Yeah, I do love the kids, but they're not getting a £3500 (or $3500) bike each!

Been looking at the ifixit stuff off and on for a while. Think one will get ordered on the next build.

Still using my cheapo set free from Custom PC :)

    Never can find the tweezers.

I'm very pleased with it so far. I have a handful of switches and APs and it all works really nicely together.
I considered it two years ago, however at that time the controller seemed to be really lacking for USG - I would have been editing json for half of the things I wanted to do, which kind of defeats the point of Unifi kit. I ended up with a Draytek which was great, but in terms of usability clearly miles behind this. Whilst Unifi might lack the configurabiltiy in something like the Edge lineup or Cisco SMB gear, yesterday it took me all of 60 seconds to segregate my Unifi cams/nvr on a separate VLAN, so I'll take it.

I did briefly consider the USG-XG as well for future proofing, but it's just crazy expensive. I wasn't up for waiting and seeing for the something-rumoured-in-between though, so this is doing the job (very well) for now.
