For the true horror purist, be aware that not only is a Mary Poppins sequel out at Xmas, it includes 92 year-old Dick Van Dyke!

Saw point break 2015 on Netflix.

Wow what an insult to the original, no believable chatacters, fake sentiment, stupid challenges that mean nothing, people die but apparently that's ok.

Glad I didn't pay for it.

Not a film, but... The Iron Fist (Season 2) 8/10

I found this a bit slow to start, but by episode 3 I was properly hooked. I found it better than the original, and despite its numerous misgivings I really enjoyed it and would recommend.

    The Purge: Election Year 7/10

I'm a big fan of The Purge films and IMHO this is by far the best that I've seen so far (I haven't seen the latest one yet). Whilst there's nothing remarkably novel happening here, the characterisation is good and the level of production is generally very high (excepting some really naff-looking gore effects added in post). Would definitely recommend this to fans of the franchise and the genre.

    Fury Road: WITNESS!/10

Every time I watch Fury Road I'm reminded of the awe and excitement I felt when I first saw T2, Aliens, Robocop and Predator. certainly up there with the greats.

Absolutely not my kind of thing, but were you aware of a TV series of The Purge, currently airing on Amazon Prime?

    Venom Sym-bi-ot or Sym-bee-ot/10

Bit slow in the beginning and it felt odd not setting up the venom/spiderman rivalry, but overall I quite enjoyed it.

Wait, have I been pronouncing it wrong all these years? I've always said SIM-bee-ote (as in "the SIM-bee-ote has a SIM-bee-otic relationship.")

That's how everyone else (except for the scientist in the initial Venom trailer) pronounces it. I remember it being made fun of after the trailer came out but I can't remember if they corrected it in the film

In proper English and not butcherd by aluminum yanks variety, it's sim-bi-otic, sim-bi-osis, not sim-bee-otic. Bloody American's and their stupid f's and z'ds where they're not needed. Gargghh!
