Let me guess: Long name troubleshooter is a patch .exe that must run on affected systems 24/7 and pulls a quarter of the resources.

I'm crossing my fingers for "authentication hack nicked from The Pirate Bay and renamed."

Honestly? I'm surprised it has taken this long for a major activation issue to strike. I expected this during XP's life.

What? You didn't crack XP just to get around the slow activation?

To be fair, it's not as bad as Adobe's YOU ARE A THIEF message that insistently appears should you install any version of CS prior to Creative Cloud.

Honestly, I didn't install XP enough times to be bothered by it in more than the ethical sense.

Well I came back to work this morning after a long weekend to find the message "Windows needs to be activated".
I'm so glad I'd read this article as I would have wondered what was going on. I ran the troubleshooter and it was sorted in a few seconds. The joys of running Windows 10

Yup. And think of all those people who got it for free? Well, now we're paying for it...
