    Maybe soon it'll be viable to go with Ubuntu or something similar for a gaming rig. Can't stand the direction MS is developing Windows 10 towards.

    I hope so.

    Cherry on the cake is if they do nvidia drivers for linux that run gsync on freesync. #iwantthemoononastick

    yeah this a decent step in the right direction. i only have win 10 install to feed my gaming needs

    This looks promising to me and, I've been doing some digging and it looks like my printer and soundcard are going to work under Linux.

    Now I just need to pull my finger out...

    That's the hard part!

    But yeah, I know what you mean. Linux and the steam beta wine proton gubbins have made it to my laptop but never yet to the desktop. It's just a matter of doing.
