Nothing is that scary when you have no financial worries nor any concern over anybody other than yourself.

That's not the lie they told everyone before the referendum -

Never mind as it's all the EU's fault, they forced us to leave because they only did 97% of what we told them when we were members and that we got nearly everything we wanted in a WA just goes to prove why we're better off out. ;)

There is already a concerted effort underway to establish the narrative that the majority of Leave voters want a no-deal Brexit. Of course people will adjust their memories to suit. Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia...

It is interesting seeing everything morph from 'project fear' to 'exactly what people voted for', or 'remainer scaremongering, it'll never happen' to 'it's happening but nothing to do with brexit'

And after that it's: the people heroically voted to rather endure some hardship than remain under the yoke of the EU. Defeat is victory; poverty is prosperity; suffering is happiness.

The Brits love nothing more than being frickin martyrs and battling through hard times.

By default we are masochists. Probably explains why the sale of sex toys has increased by 22% at one company.

I couldn't help but notice the resemblance:

    EU says "no"...

Life is now indistinguishable from satire.

May: can we tweak the deal a smidge, to get it past parliament?

EU: Why? you can't guarantee you'll get it past parliament even if we do tweak the deal.

ERG: True, we'll almost certainly vote against it, regardless of what [if any changes] May secures.

    May: But I promised...

EU: You promised us you could get the last one passed, look how that went.

I think a more accurate summary would be Theresa May sitting in a conference room, alone, looking morose.

So they're going to follow the same method they used for immigration from the EU that arguably lead to Brexit in the first place. o_O

While on the surface it may look like an easy way to avoid issues like empty supermarket shelves it actually opens up several cans of worms...

For example if the UK just allows everything from the EU into the UK a EU business could flood the UK with lets say for example cheese, then use the UK export quotas in addition to EU quotas to sell that cheese to the rest of the world, which would in turn harm UK exporters as the export quotas have been used up.

Plus queue complaints from other countries about the UK giving the EU preferential treatment and that impacting any upcoming FTA negotiations with the rest of the world.

And last but not least the problem will still need to be solved, only it will be even more difficult to do so when the can eventually doesn't go any further down the road.

    Another faff in the fiasco.

Gov have set aside millions for legal fees for an impending court battle with Eurotunnel over the ferry contracts.

If Eurotunnel win (very possibly) that'll be another chunk of the fantastical 'Brexit dividend' out the window.

    Carry On Brexit.
