Last time I moved we had to take out TV with us, a 75kg TV, a 75kg TV from the second floor of a town house :waah: still, going down was easier than taking it up the year before, gravity rocks

When I moved offices, I donated some books to the British Heart Foundation.

18 boxes of books. 18 boxes of heavy books. Down two flights of stairs. At least they collected 'em from me!
Again, when moving offices, I had to shift a 28" Panasonic Quintrix CRT up the stairs. It's not 75kg, I think, but it was plenty heavy enough up a narrow staircase to be extremely awkward!

Had to do the same when I picked up a B&O CRT TV last year. I don't know its exact weight, but it's a lot damn heavier than I remember 28" CRTs being!

I've had to move a 340kg safe twice now, once with a friend and his estate car, once solo in my wife's Clio.

It forces you to use mechanical aid, whereas a washing machine you just grab and waddle with :worried:

Presumably that was a case of getting those rear tyres pumped up to max pressure, and avoiding any speed bumps? :D

I took all of my ex's DVDs around the charity shop in a big holdall yesterday.

I've spent more time throwing away my ex's crap than packing. I've packed 5 boxes, and filled 10 black sacks :D

What's awesome is the charity shop belongs to the same trust who are housing me. And, is right down the street :)

    Yodel,

Driver has 43 stops before my delivery, worked out they are doing about ten an hour an they deliver until 6PM, so no parcel today!

Online tracking, nice but also infuriating at the same time as in theory I could just find the van and claim it, but thats not allowed.

So far so crappy a birthday.

    • Stepped in cat barf after getting dressed.
    • Got drenched just trying to fill up the bike with fuel (about 5 minutes away from my house)
    • Couldn't see jack out of either helmet due to fogging and bad weather
    • All my waterproofs leaked.
    • Couldn't make a job interview because no way am I gonna drive ~45 miles on the bike in such shitty weather.

Screw it. I'm off to the Bay to start getting drunk. I'm taking a bus and a train which also really sucks, so I'm keeping my sights on that nice cold pint of Punk IPA waiting for me in the Eli Jenkins.

Care to elaborate? I have the superhub 1 and was considering upgrading to the superhub 3 (mit zer 350Mbit internet, hein) but I've heard bad things. I reckon I could fix a load of problems with a custom (expensive) router but don't fancy paying the cash up front.

Don't let the bastards grind you down!

I'm doing birthday things today (a day ahead of the game) and it's been dreich, we've had to abandon half the plans due to weather, and being too full to eat lunch.

Frankly, I'm glad to be home on the sofa, it's more comfortable than running around town.

10 an hour, jeez I'd have been happy with that rate, when I was between jobs I delivered for an Amazon courier company; usual rate was 12 to 25 an hour, and deliver up to 9pm if needed.

Almost, I trod square in the middle of it. A suddenly wet foot when you're not expecting it is quite alarming...

Ah, then a (slightly early) happy birthday to you :thumb:.

Not planning a mental one this evening, but it might get a bit messy. I'm meeting some work mates in half an hour or so and then some other friends later on. It's gonna be a weird intersection of two different friend groups, I'm not sure how well this is going to work!
