Of course, I remember now. Things get lost in my memory as nothing seems to stand out as being absurd anymore, anything goes.

I expected a lot of bad stuff from the Trump admin, but I'm honestly still pretty shocked this refugee concentration camp (for children!) thing is really happening, with no signs of stopping (in fact it might just get a lot worse as they're in the process of moving the camps over from DHS to military domains, where there's no public oversight whatsoever).
It's just so transparently, almost comically evil -- what other word could describe systematically stealing kids from their parents with no process in place to ever reunite them, or claiming to struggle with increasing illegal border crossings while actively restricting and closing down legal ports of entry?

And 40% of the county thinks that's all just fine. They want to "own the libs" so badly that they'll go over literal children's corpses.
    Sorry, rant over.

Supposedly the person who created it created it three years ago, if the Reddit AMA is to be believed.

    Disturbing amount of foresight..

I wonder how much that shooter was inspired by the rhetoric of trump?

To be fair to Trump, the idiotic replacement conspiracy crap the shooter in Texas had swallowed hook line and sinker has been around since long before Trump even contemplated running for President.
That being said... the shooter did apparently idolise Trump as well as contemporary white supremacy hate preachers like David Duke.

As long as they don't conspire to carry out the specific crimes in question they'll always be "lone wolfs", that doesn't however rule out that they take inspiration from each other, need I mention the time "going postal" gained its dark meaning... clearly there is some influence even if they never knew each other.

I don't think it matters, as long as guns and ammunition are cheap and easy to obtain people like that will find an excuse to use them.

Stochastic terrorism is the term for what happened, and through his rhetoric Trump definitely (though probably not delibarately) played a part in it.

Of course it's not just Trump who's the problem, it's the overlapping narrative of more than a few Republican politicians, pundits and commentators in the (alternative) media that inevitably leads to tragedies like this.
Remember why Twitter is so reluctant to just kick all the nazis off their platform?

If you have a large enough audience and bombard them with the narrative that certain groups of people are insidious pests infesting the country with crime and disease, and something finally needs to be done about it... at some point, someone, somewhere is going to take that narrative to its logical conclusion and take matters in their own hands.

You could say it's just another nutjob, but you have to wonder why all these mass shooter nutjobs are suddenly leaving extremely far right manifestos in their wake explaining their motivations in great detail.
I also don't like the mental illness angle in general by the way because millions of people are mentally ill, even psychopathic, and manage not to murder dozens of people just fine. There's always a trigger, always a reason, and if the same trigger turns up so many times you have to start asking questions.

    EDIT:
    Addendum:

In response to recent tragic events Trump has promised to reconsider his misguided and hate-filled rhetoric as well as promising to tighten gun laws.
Or he went on yet another one of his incomprehensible rants, blaming everything from immigration laws, the news and video games... because of course.

Dear god someone please tell me I've gone insane and have become incapable of deciphering a five letter word...

Is he seriously using the word "reign" to refer to the time Obama was President?
Or have I missed the memo when the word "reign" changed meaning completely?

Could it be just another covfefe or hamberder moment? I'd say no, especially not from one of the principal figures of the birther "movement"...

I just don't see any option but to read that Trump tweet as "But what about the reign of that black guy", which would be more than disturbing even without the context of recent events.

I can’t believe they’re putting the blame on video games for the mass shootings in their country. Trump opened his mouth, said his lies and, just like that, it becomes the truth. Now Walmart are removing displays of violent games and ESPN & ABC has delayed the airing of an APEX Legend tournament. Might as well blame the Saturday-morning cartoons, people not going to church or porn.

Walmart removes violent games but not guns from their shelves. #America
