Methinks, if the chicken is heated to 205C all the way through, it's going to be well and truly buggered.

Based on this, I wonder if Rolls Royce sells it's chickens to Bernard Matthews after using them for Bird Strike testing on their Jet Engines labelling them as "partially cooked"

The chicken only needs to get to 165F all the way through. Roughly (and that's the best I can do it) 2000 mph. I'm not a great mathematician. I just cook a lot.

I'm assuming the slapper (for want of a better word) would have also overcooked his/her own hand?

    But why though?

I mean, just because you can, doesn't mean you need or should.

If you're rich enough, some of the time use it for something other than gaming that actually utilises the extreme hardware and also enjoy the hobby, why not?

People spend more on fast cars.

Oh, i'm not saying the bloke shouldn't spend his money how he wants - but $40k+ on a home PC that he says he "hopes he gets enough time off from work to use"? That's excessive by ANY metric...

Haha. Notice the U-bolts with Penny washers on the ends. What purpose do they serve?

I read the thread (because why not) and apparently they do do some work with it at home and that work involves deep learning, clinical decision support, isotopes, medical imaging and applications that run into the 100s of GB of RAM usage. So there's that. I sense it's not just for fun. If you get paid enough the spending a load on a high end system is probably less of an extravagance than something that will be just used for gaming and web.
