Other What's ruining your life right now?

Went out to with a couple of friends for a meal earlier. Walking up to the cashpoint to get money out I realised I'd left my wallet at home... Wanted to nip to the supermarket on the way home (after picking up my wallet) to grab a few beers and I get there just as they're pulling the shutters down. What kind of backwards people close a supermarket at 10pm?! It's almost as if these people have homes and families, it's just not good enough!

Not life-ruining, but annoying nonetheless.

 

How late do they sell alcohol where you are? Even the 24-hour supermarkets here can only sell booze between 10am and 10pm.

 

Heh. Try Germany - 8pm. Everything is closed by then at the latest. With no Sunday opening.

 

I'm pretty sure I've bought booze up until 10:30pm or 11pm in some Tesco stores in Cardiff.

Already have, thanks, lived there for just under two years . To be fair it was a long damn time ago, I was only 10 I think when we moved there...

Usually. Cardiff's pretty liberal when it comes to that sort of thing; can't really afford not to be when you have a major stadium used for international rugby right in the city centre.

It all worked out in the end though because today I woke up to a grand and a half cheque that I wasn't expecting. Nice.

 

24 hour off-licenses? Madness! Across Scotland it's 10 until 10, seven days a week.

 

Stupidity....
I ordered an item from ebay that came today, but brain fade made me order the adaptor the wrong way round...
I was looking for an adaptor to fit a SATA M.2 SSD to an mSATA slot.
I received the opposite today, an adaptor card that fits a SATA M.2 slot and accepts an mSATA SSD
The only one that I can find is this on Amazon, and don't seem to see anything quickly available in the UK on eBay.
Help would be appreciated as 'the tiles seem to have slipped off the roof' a bit'

 

had to RMA my keyboard, jesus christ it feels horrible going back to a membrane board.

 

What, you dont have a spare (or two, or three) mech keyboards lying around? I thought everyone did...?

I've been living in England for almost a decade now, a couple of years ago I was back in Glasgow with a friend and we left the pub, planning to buy beer to drink in the flat. The shopkeeper actually laughed at us, it was 23:15

I'd completely forgotten about the restrictions, used to be we'd burst off the sofa at 21:30 like clockwork, knowing the window was shutting

 

delivery company....

Was due a delivery in the afternoon. Called at 8.30am to find out an approx time so I can duck out from work and be there to sign. Wasnt loaded on the truck yet yet so they set me up to receive text messages for an eta. got the set up text message, great.

no message by 11am, checked status... delivery failed at 9.30am due to no access.... no S$%t sherlock.

now waiting on a call back for a re delivery time. I would go collect it from the depot thats 10min away from my house but its waaaay to big ( 350l sand blast cabinet) and wont fit in the car. lol

F*%$ing cough.

Had some major ick last week, fever, aches, sniffles, the usual fun stuff, and now I am stuck with this cough that will not p&"$ off. So far I have pulled my back and stomach muscles from coughing fits, almost passed out a couple of times. Had to fight the urge to throw up numerous times. It always happens after being ill these days, I had a serious dose of tonsillitis years back and now any cold or similar results in this tickly cough that I cannot cough from far enough back to scratch.

Got cough mixture, throat sweets, even codeine to try and stop it, and it's just going to take time.

 

eBay. Long story short: bought laptop to flip. 181 days elapse, making it impossible for PayPal to open any form of case for me as it’s after their max 180 day policy, and the seller reports it stolen. I sold the laptop on for a $100 profit. I’m now standing to lose that entire amount because of the previous seller. I’m so over eBay and will never be using them again. I’ve had enough.
