I'm hoping it works. I've babied my knives never letting them get bashed around and washing them/putting them back in the roll before any other washing up. Thus they held their edge for the best part of a decade. The one I got has 3 stages, the last being ceramic to really make it uber sharp.

I'll let you guys know what it's like in a couple of weeks :)

These tipped up this morning. Build quality is so-so, unsurprisingly, and the volume buttons appear to work only when they feel like it, *but* the active noise cancellation does exactly what it says on the tin: turn it on, and the noise of a nearby fan is immediately silenced and replaced with the slight hiss you get from cheaper ANC stuff. Noice.

For under £14, I'm happy so far. Remains to be seen how long they last, of course, and it would have been nice if the USB Type-C connector on the underside of the neckband came with a rubber bung - especially as they're sold as "sport" headphones.

EDIT: Oh, you can use the ANC even when the headphones are "off" - neat!

So .. kinda like active ear defenders then ? Just an enforced silence ?

Not really: active ear defenders work by constantly feeding you what external microphones on the ear cups can hear, then when something loud happens cutting the feed and turning into normal ear defenders until the loud thing has gone away. Active noise cancellation headphones feed you an inverse waveform of whatever the microphones can hear, which cancels it out - either completely, if you spend Bose money, or more-or-less-but-there's-a-noticeable-hiss if you spend £14 like I did. It does nothing, however, for protecting you from loud noises - in fact, it's worse 'cos you still get the loud noise coming in (minus whatever having the earphones in your lugholes attenuates) and it tries to deafen you further with an inverse waveform of it.

Got myself a new keyboard for work...

Corsair K68 with Cherry MX reds.

Behind it is my trusty Vengeance K70 that I have had for however long it has been out. Feels basically identical although the key positioning is a little different. Hard to describe but they feel "flatter" on the 68 vs the 70.

I did previously pick up a £35 Tecknet mechanical keyboard from Amazon that had blue switches (feels basically identical to Cherry MX blues I have tried before). After a week of testing I decided that the blues are not my cup of tea, so I have gone back to the reds (plus my work colleagues will thank me as that keyboard was LOUD AF).

I would say though as the switch feel / experience is completely subjective it is a fantastic keyboard for the money. Solid build quality, full numpad (needed for work) and various RGB options (not individual key sadly).

My wife will be taking on that keyboard as she loves the more clicky feel of blue switches. :D

It's a good game, I've played it before. It's quite a pretty game too: really well designed and the little tiles are really nice.

So impressed with the "fried donut" flavour I decided to try this too.

All I need now is LED bulbs for the whole flat, but like a dummy I forgot to check what fitting they are.

Got a bath sheet (huge) and bath towel (top half). Bit girly, but the colour really makes me relax. Also, having lost the cap for my old one I got this.

It's new, but came from Ebay.
