It's almost as if people don't understand the meaning of the word "sovereignty"...

You have met people right? :D

As a side note, haven't been paying much attention as I'm so bored by the whole thing now, feels like no progress has been made, years have been spent wasting time and money and got nobody nowhere, just want the thing to end, don't think I care which way it goes anymore.

So the next major hurdle {to a potential return to sanity} is that JRM is now suggesting his far right mates need to vote with May for any sort of deal. I just hope enough MPs are not going to settle for 'any kind of Brexit will do', and will commit to a public vote... but I'm not optimistic.

If Rees-mogg votes for mays deal it'll be in the hopes that May resigns and her successor reneges on it...

That said, it's funny af watching the hardcore frothers lose their **** over it.

They only just had a pay cut to about £37k at then end of last year, they're still getting paid even though they've not been going to their jobs for over 2 years.

Nice work if you can get it.

Predictably, the govt have gone 'no revocation, respect referendum, willofthepeople, democracy, Brexit means brexit… blaaaah' in response to the petition:

They forget over 20% of the voters didn't vote last time, presumably as they were ok with the status quo or didn't feel they knew enough about it to make a judgement. I doubt they all just forgot.

So the 5.75 million+ petition will be 'debated' on April Fools Day...

Edit. 'British people cast their votes once again in the 2017 General Election where over 80% of those who voted, voted for parties, including the Opposition, who committed in their manifestos to upholding the result of the referendum.'

This always bugs me. Of course they did, we don't have PR so a lot of tactical voting has to come into play.

They also said "THIS government...". That may turn out to be prophetic. :p

Unless Corbyn has an allotment accident involving a wood chipper and some angry badgers, I [still] can't see a change of govt changing the overall outcome.

At least, not as things stand today.

Yeah... the people from the UK kind of f***ed themselves if:

"This Government wrote to every household prior to the referendum, promising that the outcome of the referendum would be implemented."

    and

"British people cast their votes once again in the 2017 General Election where over 80% of those who voted, voted for parties, including the Opposition, who committed in their manifestos to upholding the result of the referendum."

    are true.

They are technically true, but politically meaningless.

The govt have shelved multiple 2017 manifesto promises, at least one [the 'dementia tax'] got ditched before the election. So if those manifesto promises aren't binding, what makes this one different/special?

...and lets not forget, this is a manifesto that lost the government its majority.

Politics is, and always has been, just lying creatively enough to get paid more than you're worth.

They're estate agents, but less useful.

Politics is promising the earth to get elected, then spending your time in office explaining why you haven't delivered.

When people say that, not you specifically as i know you're just quoting the politicians, but when they say that aren't they admitting they're a single issue party?
