Hi all I'm just upgrading to a 1080 with the plan to grab a 32" 1440p,as I noticed several companies have released monitors at this size and resolution with 144hz freesync, which I'm hoping will work with gsync, for about £350. Any thoughts on which would be the best one to get? The monitors are: AOC CQ32G1 SAMSUNG LC32JG50QQUXEN HANNSPREE HG324QJB Thanks! Edit: So after much deliberation I've revised my search to the below, what do people think? I'm wanting to upgrade from my aging Dell U2311H monitor to a 32" 1440p display. My wish list is a comparable image quality, with 144hz freesync so I can drive it with gsync as I have a 1080. My budget is £500~, and I'm uk based so UK retailers. I'm currently looking at ASUS STRIX XG32VQ as its £492 at Scan. What do people think?
I just bought a SAMSUNG LC32JG50QQUXEN ... Its not a bad monitor at all. In fact its pretty nice , only gripe is the stand is non adjustable but if it sits at the right height on the desk then its a non starter. ONly bought it for the size as i had a PG279Q before which i sold for £300. That was a better panel as it was IPS rather than the VA but i wanted the size increased. The Sammy for the price is a very decent monitor. No if's no but's. Cant comment on the others Oh and i see its only 289.99 on Amazon. A bargin!
I just notoced this on Amazon ASUS ROG Strix Curved XG32VQ 32 Inch (31.5 Inch) WQHD (2560 x 1440), VA, Up to 144 Hz, 125 Percent sRGB, DP, HDMI, FreeSync, AuraSync https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B077831TBZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_KtcLCb306V85D for £263.52+£21.49 delivery. Is it me or does that seem ridiculously cheap???
Damn Amazon multi-choice web pages, click on the WQHD version but price is £499. It needs to have a "QU" suffix, the "Q" suffix is the FHD version.
I've heard bad things about Acer monitors is my main apprehension. Plus I do really like the styling of the Asus!
I wouldn't buy another Acer monitor. I've had two now and they just look cheap, even though one was £500. I expected better. I mean dang, even a £230 AOC looked nicer than my 28" 4k.
Me too, however it's worth saying (afaik) both Acer and Asus use the same panels so if you're going for IPS you're still going to be playing the IPS lottery. TFT Central have a database of the different panels if you want to go really in-depth, personally I'd avoid anything with an AUO panel in it.
I like the panel but I didn't like the stand -it's be fine on a bigger desk but it's far too big for mine, which is only about 600mm deep. It means the rear of the monitor is at least 12" from the wall. I had a Ergotron Neo-Flex stand in the cupboard, so I'm using that instead, because the monitor sits much further back. The monitor itself is lovely, with plenty of inputs and adjustments. TBH it has a lot of "gamer" features I'll probably never use, but I didn;t buy it for that. I wanted a 32" curved QHD monitor and it fits the bill nicely. I've never used G-Sync or Freesync so I'm not entirely sure what to look for, other than the G-Sync switch is available in the nvidia control panel.
It's over budget by fifty odd quid but if you can find one on sale I'd go for a LG 32GK850G over an Asus Strix XG32VQ, one review here, another here.
AFAIK the -B one is just a change to the accents, instead of black with red trim it's black with black trim.
