Like a lootbox but for movies, I'm just as sick of Abrams' mystery box as I am of gaming lootboxes.
Wait for the review after a couple of weeks at least.

"The saga come to an end"

So they're finally putting it rest. About time, IMO. I did enjoy the sequels but, in hindsight, they felt unnecessary - One last squeeze of the teat.

Pff, this is DISNEY we're talking about.

All that means is that after this one they're firing Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Adam Driver. Or they mean the saga of the lonely shut ins following them about chanting forced identity politics all day long.

FWIW, Lucas always said it was a 9-film saga inside his head. He just chose to start at #4 because it was the most exciting part.

Yeah, but when Disney bought the franchise they threw out Lucas' treatments for the final 3 films in favour of their own...thing. Lucas wanted to focus on the microscopic world of the midichlorians.

Warning, serious nerdery incoming, read at your own peril.

Lucas flip flops all over the place, he claimed he had as many as 15 films at various times. Other people who worked on the fims like Ralph McQuarrie and Gary Kurtz always said that the prequels were floated as an idea once the big twist of Empire Strikes Back was written, which was very late in production. The Episode IV thing wasn't in the original 1977 release of Star Wars either, it was just called Star Wars. Episode IV: A New Hope was added to the title and crawl in the 1981 re-issue that came out after Empire. It was added to generate hype for the prequels that Lucas hoped to start straight after Return of the Jedi, but in the end backing for them wasn't as forthcoming as he hoped so it sat on the back burner for 15 years.

I always point at The Thrawn Trilogy of books as the 'proper' Star Wars sequel since it continues the conflict on the original movies without relying on arse pulls too much. Aside from Thrawn himself being an epic arse pull.

Star Whores? Not seen that one * adds to top of 'must see' list.

If i'm honest Rogue One is still my favourite by far.
