Needed a quick snack and just invented my new favourite butty.

Pita with a slightly runny fried egg, pepperoni and kimchi. Nom.

    That is all.

It's a NZ only thing (but you can get it in Oz), made/owned by Sanitarium whereas UK Marmite is made/owned by Unileaver, hence why NZ Marmite sold in the UK has to be labelled "NZ -Mite" (see my link above).

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marmite_(New_Zealand)

    NZ Marmite
    KJ per 100g: 690 (165 calories)
    Sodium (mg) per 100g: 3310
    Sugars (g) per 100g: 11.2

    Vegemite
    KJ per 100g: 798 (263 calories)
    Sodium (mg) per 100g: 3450
    Sugars (g) per 100g: 2.2

    UK Marmite
    KJ per 100g: 1100 (250 calories)
    Sodium (mg) per 100g: 3900
    Sugars (g) per 100g: 1

    Source: https://carondann.com/2013/05/25/marmiteversusvegemite/

My son, as a young lad, used to call UK Marmite "hot marmite" and NZ Marmite "cool marmite" - down to the sodium level. Needless to say, this household always has it in stock. My mother once said that I would of died of starvation as a child if it hadn't been for (NZ) marmite.

In fact, I had an omlette "sandwich" about an hour ago with NZ Marmite on it - yum yum.

Pick that mic up mate, i've eaten that Sanitarium muck when I lived in NZ.

    Never again.

The memories are making me feel sick...

Edit: I do miss our local Saturday market though, there was a lady who sold her homemade kimchi based on her grans recipe iirc. Can't find any bought stuff that comes close.

    After a ruddy good sleep (7pm - 5am) I awoke to this.

Sadly it looks barely anything like it actually was. I literally felt the orange glow warming my face and my flat.

I also seem to have developed "flat syndrome". Basically since December last year I have not bought anything other than the essentials (vape liquids, coffee etc) and have spent every single penny I had (and gifts from my fam etc) on stuff for the flat. So Friday I thought "sod it, I am buying something completely unnecessary". I have been on both Nike and Adidas now about ten times each and can't pull the trigger. I guess the broken Razer phone I bought qualifies for needless tat, but the thing is I do actually need it to complete a headphone amp set up.

Felled a tree, split it, debarked it and roughed out a bow. Got three more staves. Cost? Sweat. I feel great. Maybe I can sell a bow or two.

Being completely, 100% debt free right now.
Neither myself, nor my wife owe anyone a single cent right now.
Took us a while to get here, but the plan is to stay here for the next 2 years, save up as much as we can, so that I can do all the pupilages required to qualify as what's known as an "advocate" here - a higher qualified lawyer that acts only in higher courts.

Good man! I got a couple of years to work at it, but a pretty solid plan to get myself in the same position within the next 2-2.5 years. Even the next 6 months will be considerably more comfortable and less stressful, which will get the ball rolling to really hit 2020 on the right foot.

Speaking of which - payday! Rent covered, bills covered. Relax.

Thankfully debt is one of my life destroyers. Just the thought that I owe money makes me quiver.

There are downsides to that though. I will never have a mortgage as the anxiety would kill me within a year and my credit score is crap, but hey I will never be in debt.

    Lmfao.

I just went to the trust to discuss the deposit thing. Apparently one of the workers did some digging with the deposit scheme and discovered that the deposit was paid into the scheme in 2015. One problem, I moved in on the 23rd Oct 2013. Now apparently that breaks the law, so we're setting the lawyers onto her. Smithers! Release the hounds!

The good part? I get back 2-3x my deposit lol.

Funny thing is had my landlady not tried to be greedy and steal my money (like, taking £548 from me to keep) then we'd likely never found out.

She's really going to regret that.

Once the weather brightens up over the weekend I should be able to level the remainder of the ground, put down the membrane, dig the raised beds and peg them in, stain, lay the slabs, gravel and tidy up.. The finishing touches can come at leisure.

In hindsight I should have planned this way better, it'll look nice when its done but currently its causing me so much grief just dodging the weather I have this very real fear it'll just drag on indefinitely.

However, my partner has swapped her super swanky birthday meal out which would cost me an arm and a leg for a family BBQ in the new garden (her choice). This gives me just under two weeks to complete but a warm weekend (and bank holiday) should accelerate the process... Its been enjoyable in the sense that I know what I'd do in a home of my own with a decent budget. just wish this wasn't rented

The Germans are, apparently, fans of mid-week bank holidays.

So I'm enjoying a day off.

Yes. Whilst excellent for those in Deutschland, irritating for me needing to speak, relatively urgently, with an German today...
