Hi All I'm thinking about getting a new chair, as the one I have is garbage! I really dislike the racing style ones which have flooded the market! Does anyone know where to get a decent mesh office chair? One that allows parts of you to breathe and not make your rear go numb! Many thanks!
Second hand Herman Miller type? Though ultimately, short of finding an example and ploning your ass down in it, can't really comment on what you will or won;t find comfortable...
Oh yes, I've tried those before and they're fantastic! I was wondering if there were any decent ones at lower price points though.
Hence 'second hand'... though even some of the second hand examples aren't cheap. That said, don;t IKEA do passable knock offs of some of the Herman Millers?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/herman-miller-aeron-chair Very glad I got mine free when I complained of a sore back in an HR "working from home, is your home office fit for purpose" questionaire. They were offloading a whole bunch fron a DC we closed down.
Are you dead set on a mesh chair? The energi-24 is the only chair I've been able to get truly comfortable on in multiple positions (upright, slightly and mega reclined).
Considering it's something you interact with 100% of the time you're using your PC, makes sense to spend money on one. Same with monitor, keyboard, mouse etc, all have a huge affect on your user experience, often more than a new gpu etc.
Try 2nd-Hnd on Ebay - they refurb and sell Herman Miller, Steelcase and Humanscale chairs for decent prices. I got my Steelcase Leap V2 from them three years ago - still perfect.
Yup had two chairs from them and have been mostly happy apart from the Embody which arrived dusty AF. It even had dust bunnies on the back so I had to vacuum it all off then clean it using wipes. Amazing chair though and very comfy.
