Any recommendations for email client software? Been using Thunderbird for years, but I want something else. I've tried windows mail but it's ugly, sluggish and takes forever to check for new mail. I know I lot of folk just use browser based webmail, and that's fine for them but I'm not interested in doing that - I can check my webmail on my phone when I'm on the go - I just want a dedicated email client for my desktop. Nothing fancy - don't need calendar functions or anything. Just a basic client with a configurable layout. Jesus, an old throwback back Outhouse Express would do. Any ideas?
Thunde.... Oh. Err... Mutt? Pine? I'm guessing you're after GUI rather than TUI, though, so... Eudora?
TUI? nah, I want an email client not a package holiday. Seriously though, the TBird interface layout is OK. I'm just tired of TBird itself - had a few issues with it that had me second guessing my hardware - client crashes, refusal to send emails occasionally when no settings have changed. I even moved my email client to my laptop only for a month or two and had similar random problems. I was looking at Sylpheed, which looks like an old school no nonsense client, but I've never heard of it before today.
I already said I don't want browser based webmail. I have a gmail account but only use it occasionally.
I got BlueMail a couple of years ago for my wife's iphone, had to buy it (wasn't much), I've since moved it to other phones and works great, not sure if they have a PC version though.
No, that is just the latest UI Microsoft. Upvote for PINE, it was my go to when I was in university. POP3 was the only option and I accessed my email from anywhere via SSH.
I just checked BlueMail's website again, haven't looked at it for years. It looks like it is now free, I remember having to pay $19.99 a number of years ago... They have versions for Windows, IOS & Android.
