Brexit in a micro-cosm; make decision then bugger off before having to deal with consequences...

Absolutely nothing to do with her constituency voting overwhelmingly to remain and her ignoring them i guess.

Or the vote of no confidence that she lost almost unanimously last year.

She is only doing the world a favour at the next GE rather than immediately, we might actually leave before the next GE (little time for it before Halloween and it would be political suicide for Doris to beg the EU for another extension).

I suppose May could fall on her sword and beg for another extension before she is kicked out in two weeks time.

I doubt the EU would consider such a request before the last minute tbh.

Labour officially supporting a second referendum then.

Unless they win a GE and then they'll try and 'renegotiate' :wallbash: and apparently put that up against a remain option. I can see that if they did win then the desire for a referendum will miraculously disappear.

Meanwhile MPs are currently voting on introducing same sex marriage in NI.

Will be interesting to see how the DUP reacts if it passes....

Edit: Passed by majority of 310.

And the amendment to extend abortion rights to NI passed as well, by 233.

3 days to go until the 12th of July...
Supply & Confidence bung between DUP and Tories up for renegotiation soon when Doris takes office...

Well, the DUP did want Northern Ireland not to be treated any differently than the rest of the UK... I guess they got their wish. :p

Short of restarting things at Stormont is there anything the DUP can realistically do bar piss and moan from the sidelines.

Coup d'etat, restore absolute monarchy and install Ian Paisley Jr as King?
Just kidding, they obviously can't do that.

    They basically have four options:
1: Surrender to SF demands to restart Stormont
2: Accept that their core beliefs on same sex marriage and abortion are incompatible with the UK
3: Throw toys out of pram on 12th and allow their violent thugs to fly free
4: They could demand that the Tories legislate against the demands of Sinn Fein to restart Stormont as a price for renewing the DUP Tory bung.
