When I moved I had fibre. I also had the full TV package, so my monthly bill was £56. I soon realised that I did not watch any of it, but was a bit stuck. So I moved to copper (ewww) and they said that because I was moving into sheltered accommodation I didn't have a penalty for ending contract so it was all good.

I ran through my new bill with the lady and it was £32.49 per month. I needed the drop, as I have to pay for my care worker. Any way, I noticed the bill settled on £40.39 and decided to look into it. Turns out I'd been bolted up with a £8 per month TV package. So I thought "F**k it, I will see if I can watch these channels I am paying for!". Sure enough, error message. So wait, I've now been paying for TV channels for 6 months that I can't watch? Time to complain !!

Phoned BT and went through it all. Whilst I was there I was given a free upgrade to Fibre 50mb for the same monthly price. I was also given the new BT hub for free with free postage. I decided to keep the TV, now that I can actually watch it, so my bill will be £40.39. Obviously I can cope with that because I've been paying it for 6 months /rolls eyes.

Any way my complaint went through and not only did I get a £67 refund but I also got TV free for 3 months lmao.

It pays to complain it would seem :D

After taking generous redundancy after 10 years perm at the end of January (was a dirty freelance for 11 years prior to that), I spent a few months *casually* looking for contract work (and spending too much time on various forum marketplaces and ebay - shhh, don't tell the wife), before looking more seriously, I finally started a new contract today.

About time, I was getting bored. Wife is happy, albeit I will be missing the family trip to Ireland in a few weeks, and the bank balance will start to look very healthy shortly given that I am now earning (gross) twice what I was earning as a permie. Should of done this years ago.

You MUST complain, they will never put it right if you don't.

Just received an Etchr satchel in the post... it's certainly an upgrade on the twelve year old Daler Rowey held together with cable ties and Araldite thing I've got now.

Polecat is finally back from the workshop after 6 and a bit weeks.

Looks good as new, and have some souvenirs for my trouble

Might get the wheel fixed up and polish up the dampers for some motoring themed decor for the garage.

*Finally* got around to shoving my old PC bits in that Parvum case I got from @David:

    upload_2019-7-10_18-46-49.png

There's no drive in there at the moment - it's still in the old case, just in case I needed to pull any files off it - and I need to raid the bits box for a fan or two, but I'm pretty pleased. *So much more room* for cables than my Define Mini!

Oh, and there was a spare bit left over, which I'm faaaaaairly sure is a "make a radiator look pretty-like for the window" add-on. If not, I have no idea where it's supposed to go.

Was it a yellow bevelled trim panel for the top radiator grille?

Good to see it put to use - it was just languishing in a box here.

...Maybe? Seems to fit there. I was thinking it couldn't go there 'cos the screw holes underneath are countersunk, which would be pointless, but if it's an optional cosmetic add-on that'd make sense.
