If they opted for 4 the price of Hunty-Doris saying no would be a GE.

Hunty-Doris is almost certainly facing a GE whatever they do, so they might not see it as much of a threat.

GE before Brexit = Risk of Brexit Party "stealing" Tory seats, plus begging EU for an extension to make time for a GE would be politically devastating for Mr & Mrs "31st Oct actually means something".
So unfortunately the DUP still holds some cards even most of their deck has been flushed down the toilet.

He might actually have shot himself in the foot, filibuster through the deadline with a 5000 page "progress" report being read out is much easier to achieve for the government than prorogation:geek:

The bit that makes me laugh in all this is that some people seem to believe that just because the person threatening to blow the knee caps off of the UK has changed that the threat is somehow more credible.

The credibility or lack thereof has nothing to do with a supposed renegotiation at the last second, it's that the EU doesn't consider it a threat to being with because they have less to lose.

    The only "realistic" alternatives are:
    Moar extensions
Convince Parliament to pass May WA
And only one of those the UK can do unilaterally...
So regardless of who makes the "no deal threat", it becomes more and more credible due to the passage of time and vanishing / rejection of alternatives.

Oh yea, i don't disagree that the chances of leaving without a WA is probably higher, what I'm saying is that the threat itself isn't anymore credible than it was when Mrs May was making it.

Replacing Metal Mickey (I'm showing my age there) with Bozo the clown doesn't change how threatening leaving with a WA is as it's more threatening to the UK than the EU.

I see Farage is moaning about Ursula von der Leyen being elected by only 9 votes...no prizes for guessing what percentage of the vote that is. :D

It's almost like the universe is trying to tell him something.

We'll be left begging for Trump's extension if we leave.

Aye. Two problems with his kipper waving.

The Isle of Man isn't in the EU and those laws are UK laws.

Apart from that he was spot on. :duh:

    They voted against proroguing Parliament.

Yeah, it'll make it hard for Boris but if his big idea to solve a problem is to shut up shop and ignore it we will have massive problems. Not to mention the consitutional and democratic implications.
