After the Brexiteer's performance at the last referendum I don't believe another referendum is the answer, they will simply lie and cheat again.

As far as I'm concerned the answer is revoke article 50, no compromise, we've already seen that if you give these people an inch they will try to steal the whole country.

Putting Genie back in the lamp and pretending nothing happened isn't exactly going to work after Cameron let Jafar rub it three times...

Even if we got a PM with the balls to cancel the whole Brexit idea we'd very likely have to put up with decades of incessant whining from leavers.

The leavers won't see the side of your arguments you're making, they refused to see it's only advisory, they refused to see they were lying, they refused to see our complaints and they believed that we're taking away what they see it as rightfully theirs. Revoke could lead to a big surge in far-right recruitment, feeling betrayed and seeing parliament betraying them (their thinking of course) will turn more and more to them.

And giving the far right the thing it wants always ends well... yep they'll just quiet down and go away if we indulge them...

The far right numpties will kick off whatever happens, if not this then over halal chocolate in their 'you can't say easter any more' eggs... or some other nonsense... kicking off is what they do, it's all they have...

There has already been a surge in far right recruitment, it's a bit late to use that as an argument against anything. As for leavers feeling aggrieved, they'll shut up when they get to keep their jobs, the older ones are too busy dying off anyway.

Brexit stopped being a rational debate long ago. In fact for many - if not all - of the instigators of Brexit it never was a rational debate in the first place. It's ideological, and you cannot win a debate against a committed ideologue.

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson and his Old Etonian chums don't like the EU because there are too many restrictions in place against their corporate pals being able to screw over their workers: minimum holiday entitlement, the working time directive, parental leave, shared parental leave, etc, etc; plus a tax reform designed to mitigate tax avoidance that's due to come into force in Jan 2020 adds an extra time pressure. Jeremy Corbyn and his old school ultra left-wing Labour chums don't like it for the same reason that they didn't like it in the 70s: a supranational capitalist free-for-all which puts British workers and British tradespeople at risk of being undercut by cheaper foreign imports/labour.

Neither of the main two parties has the strength of leadership that is required in order to bring together a divided parliament and a divided nation. Neither of them will be able to command the convincing majority in the House of Commons that is required in order to break the logjam one way or another. Theresa May was close when she took the reins in 2016, but she pissed away the slim majority she had with a snap GE in 2017 and ended up being subservient to the DUP. No single party has had a convincing majority in the House of Commons since the 2005 general election. 2010 was a hung parliament with a Con/Lib-Dem coalition; 2015 was a very slim majority for Con; 2017 had a minority Con government with a confidence & supply arrangement with the DUP.

David Cameron ****ed us over when he gambled on keeping the Tory party together back in 2015, but more to the point: neo-liberal economics has well and truly royally ****ed over all major Western nations and has been doing so for almost 40 years. That is the system that has really led us to the position we now find ourselves in, we're so mired in this system that we literally cannot see the wood for the trees: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/sep/11/brexit-ultras-triumph-neoliberalism.

And neither of the main two parties will ever admit that they had a role in f**king everything up, stay in the EU = the EU remains the scapegoat, leave and they'll just make up another scapegoat.

Don't worry, they've never let facts get in the way of blaming FURRINERS for every conceivable problem.

Yeah it stopped being rational ages ago but we used to mock the brexiters for dreaming of unicorns but I feel the revokers are dreaming of unicorns too.

Apparently it was a stitch up, you know all organised by an anti Brexit Luxembourg to make BoJo look bad...

Is there a counter next to the meat and cheese ones in the supermarket? Everyday it feels like someone lines up with their numbered ticket waiting to pick up an excuse.

"Oooh we've got some lovely excuses in today madam, these are all the way from Luxembourg".
