So, I will be able to hand back my late mum's flat earlier than expected (saving 700+ Euros in rent and bills), sold the last two items still in said flat today (washing machine and fridge) and I just arrived in my home office because I couldn't be arsed to sit around in the company office when all I have to do is talking to people on the phone.

A good day, one might say.

Just wrote a "Mr Angry from Cardiff" letter/email. It's regarding a pretty crappy situation but I like those letters, they're always fun :thumb:.

What's at least 6 inches long, goes in your mouth, and is more fun if it vibrates?

    A toothbrush. What else? :eyebrow:

    A Lazarus motherboard...
I bought a cheap untested H81 Thin ITX board a few weeks back for £10 on ebay, complete with CPU. Needless to say, it was dead. That CPU didn't work in my test H81 board either, but the board's been in storage a loooong time.
Cut to this evening, when I unwrapped my G3258 CPU bought on the MP here. Worked fine in the H81 ATX board, so that's still Ok.
For a giggle, I fired up the thin ITX board with the G3258, and IT LIVES!
So, I now have a cheap working bit of kit.
Quick, back to the MP to resurrect the DDR3 SODIMM wanted thread I canned after the board was dead!
A good end to a day that could be in the 'other' thread. My Mum's friend of 45 years died yesterday 'unexpectedly', apparently she had cancer but told no one.
Not even 2 weeks ago when they last met and my Mum asked if she was OK, as she looked unwell...

On top of that I just signed the contract for a new loan which will make it A LOT cheaper to pay for the car and other random bits which I had loans for, but with a higher interest rate. Yay for the current loan market!

And I'll get around 650 to 700 Euros from the health insurance for 10 days I took off earlier in the year during my mum's radiation therapy.

    Things are slowly looking better.

The electrical work is done in my bathroom renovation.

I started in June, fired the contractor I hired immediately after demo was finished, leaving me with no toilet and nobody to do the work.

So I pulled the permit (something the contractor I fired couldn't seem to handle) and got to work. A month later I had a toilet installed (and shortly after the shower and sink as well). I've been going slow after that point because I've been short on funds, but now that the electrical is completed, I can touch up the walls and paint and it will be done. I'm hoping to have all that accomplished this weekend.

I think I'm actually getting a (little) bit better. Managed to stay awake for a whole day yesterday for the first time in 9 days.

    That's good I guess.

I've managed to successfully live-upgrade CentOS 7 to CentOS 8 without even rebooting. I'm now turning this process into a fancy script I can push onto github.

This did make me chortle a little.

So earlier I was causing a pinch. Well actually no, but close. I was playing around with the Vega 64. Benching etc. Any way, I go downstairs and my mother is in a panic. I ask what's wrong... "All of a sudden my Smart meter turned red and started flashing" lol. From what Wattman was telling me the GPU alone was pulling around 250w.

You might need "Oxygen Updater" from the Play Store. It grabs the update direct from Oneplus' servers.
You then go through settings to install as a "local upgrade".

I've heard from an old acquaintence that the late lamented suppliers of lovely refurb Dell monitors etc. NRG IT are not dead, after having some difficulties that were not their fault.
They should be up & running again this year.
I don't know about the name and web address, but they are still based near me in Poole.
As soon as I hear they're going again, I'll post their details.

Ah that's good. I was trying to find their website a little while ago and saw they hadn't posted anything on their Twitter in a while and I just assumed they had stopped trading.
